These are not flip-flops, they are merely "strategic comprises (sic)" to get things done.

    This is the most hilarious

    A 45% import tariff...haaaaaaaaaaa

    Haaaaa
I was laughing when he originally mentioned that before he won and now I'm laughing even harder because that was just another LIE.....

A 45% import tariff... Yep....let's see him place that tariff on China in his first 100 days... I wish there was 1000 to 1 odds where I could bet he wouldn't do it because I would go all in and win big ....

I can't stop laughing that he would actually say something so foolish...

During his election campaign this year, Trump spoke of a 45 percent import tariff on all Chinese goods while failing to outline how it would work. Should any such policy come into effect, China will take a "tit-for-tat approach", according to an opinion piece in the Global Times, a newspaper backed by the Communist party.

So what is the current import tariff in China on American washing machines, refrigerator, and TVs?

Probably none, since they bought one each, reverse-engineered it, and started manufacturing them themselves. I joke from painful experience.

    They'd get us on phones.

The reality is that the import tariff on many American durable goods is already set above 45% in China. This is why American washing machines, refrigerator, and TVs cannot compete in China.

Well, Made in America washing machines, etc., anyway, because there are many US companies manufacturing in China for that market.

Yes, if you want to manufacture for the Chinese market then you are required to locate your plants in China. Providing Chinese workers with jobs.

Why don't we implement a similar policy in the U.S. by using tariffs in the same way that China does?
