Some of us here are betting on these elections. Obiously with the aim of winning. We still have time to put new bets on. Now, the most profitable bet is Trump with the possibility of tripling one's money. Just now, would you bet the farm on a Trump's win? Compared to trading, that would be a 300% return in 2 months, or a 100% loss.
Of course not... he's behind in polls... will any afro-americans vote for him? How about the women... what's the percentage on that? Even Republicans are crossing the border to de Dems. Take all that into account and a x 75% chance of Clinton winning is fair...: http://sports.betfair.com/?tmi=27713489&ex=1&ti=2378961&q=presidency PS, great thread!! Maybe we should shout as well like the other poster in the speeches threads..
I'd like to put money on Hillary but right now the odds range from 300-400 to win 100.I'm hoping Trump has a short term boost to make the Hillary odds more favorable. Trump supporters could make a killing if they really thought he'd win.
How did you boys do on that Brexit trade? Did you bet the farm on the heavily-favored "stay" vote???? LMAO Not hard to find a Risk:Reward trade of 1:3 in the market, every day. Why would a so-called day-trader tie up their precious capital for 2 whole months, just so they can maybe eek out a 1:3 trade. Makes no sense. And for me? No, I wouldn't bet money. Global elections are so rigged, even in America. The entire system is against Trump. They will throw everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink at him. More dirty tricks on the way. It's like trading with a Currenex broker with a last look provision, and busts your profitable trades.
@achilles28, whoever bets the house on something like this... or even anything... would be a problem gambler. As with the Brexit vote... there can be some money in trading the odds against a market move. IMO, Trump presidency would mean a decent initial sell-off. So... buy ES-puts and bet on Hillary, or buy calls and bet on Trumpet...
Brexit : I cashed in 300$ on a win, as there was too much noise ( everybody was against Farage, but I had been following him for a while). Now I am following McMullin: if he can get all the deadlines lifted , and this is not a small feast, that will be the proof for me that if there is a tie, McMullin could get in and win. I won't bet on McMullin, even if he is at 1000/1 till all the deadlines are lifted. Why political betting : to make sure that I am not thinking just on emotions. By the way, I have been a long time admirator of Donald Trump. I even gave him a pass for making people believe he was a self-made deca-billionnaire, when in fact his dad was worth TWENTY years ago at least 300million$. But seriously, he is scarring people : he talked about defaulting, getting the US government to go bankrupt!!! I thought he was not serious, till I found out his history of bankrupcies. Yulp!
You forgot that thing about the nukes... where he asked his security advisor why we (U.S.) couldn't use them... if we have them... why can't we use them?... Hilarious... scary, but hilarious... until he actually gets in and starts pushing buttons...
You guys have been brain-washed by the stupid leftist media. Trump couldn't have been successful in a place like New York, if he wasn't all there. Have you tried project managing and building skyscrapers yourselves? Hillary....is Hilliarious....correct... Trump: Awards: Entrepreneur of the Year, Wharton Entrepreneurial Club, 1984; Ellis Island Medal of Honor, 1986; Developer of the Year, Construction Management Association of America, 1999; Hotel and Real Visionary of the Century, UTA Federation, 2000. Publications: Trump: The Art of the Deal (with Tony Schwartz), 1987; Trump: Surviving at the Top(with Charles Leerhsen), 1990; Trump: The Art of the Comeback (with Kate Bohner), 1997; The America We Deserve (with Dave Shiflett), 2000. What do your resumes look like?
What does my resume have to do with this? All those awards are 17 years old... surely he's managed well, as most real estate developers. But he also had some bankruptcies, although with a business that size that's not really shocking to me... so it's not all daisies. And I've definitely not been brainwashed by the left, since I'm more center right anyway... I do, however, have a brain and can think for myself and make my own conclusions... If Trump is elected, international relations will be put under stress... and that will affect the markets. What do those books say about that @Optionpro007? And what's your analysis for a Trump presidency effect on the markets?
Wasn't there a site called Intrade where you bet on political outcomes and it was deemed illegal. Why would you take to an internet forum and discuss illegal activitiy? Let me guess, you are the type who breaks the law, then posts your illegal activity on Facebook so the cops can show up at your door 2 hours later.
