Have we reached the tipping point yet? http://news.yahoo.com/video/environ...ing-accelerating-say-scientists-29941036.html
Lucky for us we have not reached the tipping point quite yet. There is still time to tax the evil American industries and we'll all be saved. Never mind that CO2 emissions are down in the U.S. while China, India and Russia continue to spew out more than ever. It's only the evil Americans that are to blame. They must be taxed for their sins. Not all of them of course. The leftist elite can continue to jet around the globe, live in huge homes, be driven in their limo's, etc. That's OK. But you fucks that work for a living? We're taxing your asses, turning your A/C off, and grab a jacket this winter cause we're rationing your heat. We all must sacrifice, don't ya' know.
That is a fair statement. If you are going to talk green then be green. I have researched enuf to know that one can reduce one's carbon footprint to near zero. It would be nice to see our leaders lead the way.
The US is not leading unless you mean leading by having the highest per capita carbon footprint and being the country that has contributed the most CO2. And we don't need taxes, just policy. Ban vehicles that get less than a certain MPG, build nuclear, require efficiency, encourage renewables and double-down on efforts to get fusion power going. Doing something about it is not the end of the world but doing nothing certainly is. If we keep doing what we're doing we face certain catastrophe.
Why would you believe anything ABC News has to say? They get caught lying and distorting facts on a daily basis.
The US is not the world's largest emitter of CO2 nor is it the largest per capita emitter. I am really getting sick and tired of hearing this rubbish from ignorant Obama supporters. Uneducated, non-analytical, flat Earthers. I have a suggestion, shut your mouth, open your ears and pay attention. Maybe you will do a little better next time.
Oh, I get it. I'm wrong about GW because I'm an Obama supporter. That's how you guys "think". However, I stand corrected. The US is not the highest per capita but among the large nations is right behind Australia. Qatar is the highest per capita (mostly because of desalination) and the others that are higher than the US are all small countries. The US has released the most CO2 of any country on an historical basis. The point is, is that much of the CO2 problem is and has been us and we should be leading on the issue and we're essentially doing nothing. top twenty emitting countries
Historical emissions The US has released as much as Russia, China, and Germany put together. Total Emissions (1000's tons carbon) 1 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 92,739,807 2 RUSSIAN FEDERATION* 37,562,270 3 CHINA (MAINLAND) 29,575,206 4 GERMANY 22,283,279 5 UNITED KINGDOM 19,895,515 6 JAPAN 13,857,045 7 FRANCE (INCLUDING MONACO) 9,175,102 8 INDIA 8,706,956 9 CANADA 6,964,865
Yes. Even your own chart that you put up disputes your claim that the US is the largest CO2 emiiter per capita.
