We have a violent criminal thug problem not a gun problem. We need to get violent criminal thugs off the street( mainyly Urban thugs) and then we can make the prigress we need to make. These are the thugs that cause the majority of the violence in our country. Hell— build more prisons if need be.

  2. We have an Innervoice problem. If only it would STFU.

Urban violence has been a problem since the Five Points gained international notoriety as a disease-ridden, crime-infested slum in the 1850s that existed well into the 20th century.

Today, now the 21st century...ethnic groups have changed but the problem still exist. In fact, it never went away nor solved. Gangs today glamorize violence as the gangs since the 1850s.

The solution back then is still the same today. If you fear living in the urban communities...move out.

  7. That's a complex debate.
But I personally feel the US is way too soft, and liberal, on crimes.

Criminals commit their evil, weird, bad deeds...because...they feel they can. It's That simple.

Do you think all those thugs, murders, gangs, rapists, pedophiles, thieves, druggies, dealers, alcoholics, etc etc....would do bad things...if they knew someone was watching them....and the punishment is instant death, or torture or mutilation?
Of course not...because they are rational and cowards.

Increase technology, and man power police, on the world....and have harsh, instant, punishment. And criminals, humans, would be too scared to attempt to be bad.

It's really that simple. To solve bad people, all over the world.
The Problem is all the diplomacy, and democracy, that are overprotecting civil/criminal liberties.

You know damn well I never said that nor implied such...now go pull that needle out of your arm and take a cold shower...come back and read the below.

    ----------

Yet, now that you mentioned it, I don't have the time to look at the statistical ratios but someone else has done it...gang violence in the 1850s is statistically similar to what it is today although there obviously weren't better data maintained back then...the choice of weapons was much different.

Urban violence became so bad, that the U.S. created Prohibition in the 1920's to reduce crime and corruption, solve social problems, reduce the tax burden created by prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene in America.

It didn't work out too well. In fact, Prohibition was a big failure because the Gangs became more organized, politicians became more corrupt and the violence spilled over more into the normal population. Also, gun manufacturers seized on the growing violence by having exclusive contracts with the U.S. most outlaw gangsters.

Just as bad, Hollywood glamorized the gangsters of the 20th century. So much there's been countless movies, academy award winners (e.g. Godfather, Goodfellas, Scarface, Black Caesar, Bugsy, Once Upon a Time In America et cetera).
    • America loves their gangs (sarcasm).
My point, it's a fucked up situation and it wasn't resolved back in the 1850's during the big immigration years from Europe and it's not going to be resolved today because America loves & defends its right to gun ownership.

In fact, the country was founded on the right to bear arms. It's the primary reason America can never be like any other country that has low gun violence in comparison because those countries were not founded on the right to bear arms.

  9. You need to understand that Innervoice is dog-whistling. He's a racist trying to be cute by dancing along the edges.

Just look at his post history. He keeps getting banned and comes right back with a new username.
