that first article was excellent even though trump at times has pissed off each part of his constituency he is still giving them what they most desire... so they will pick him over a crazy democrat... "On issue after issue the Democratic party has moved to the left, catering to a progressive base outraged at Trump’s election and seething at how the Democratic establishment foisted a fatally flawed candidate upon them. The latest progressive cause célèbre is for eliminating America’s border enforcement agency, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice). One can be outraged at how Trump is enforcing America’s immigration laws without thinking that eliminating all border enforcement is a good idea. An idea like this keeps Republicans united in their support for Trump as it clearly shows how unacceptable the alternative is."
"The more Trump gets criticized by the media, the more his base seems to rally behind him" said Fred Yang, a democrat pollster. Trump hits highest job approval in latest quarter: Gallup http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...job-approval-highest-in-latest-quarter-gallup
His base will support him no matter what, like he said he can shoot someone on 5th ave and his base will cheer. The true test will be November, we either vote out GOP thus defanging Trump or move towards a very dark future.
Cato was weaponized by the Koch's years ago, citing them as some independent source is absurd. The Holy Trinity of Trump Support is just three groups: the rich, the religious and the racist.
Not surprising given the fact that the media has become totally politicised, Obama's base would have stuck by him too, both sides get their news from the sources they agree with its a big problem when you cant go anywhere to get unbiased news, i flip back and forth between CNN, and Fox cause i like to see both sides of the argument, and you literally could not see two more diametrically opposed stories being told on a nightly basis.
you see that is he belief the article was addressing. Trump's base is actually just a small subset of the voters who will vote for him because of what democrats are doing and the fact Trump has done a few things correctly. for instance evangelicals will vote for him again not because they like Trump but because he has appointed Gorsuch and nominated Kavanaugh. the dark future comes when the democrats go pre venezuela which is where they are heading with a short stop at big govt socialism.
Thats the thing, im not even a Trump fan but if i was in the states right now id vote for him as opposed to the alternative, the left has taken Trumps election as their cue to go off the deepend, good luck selling that to anyone outside of New York and California. And the reason Trumps approval rating is rising even while he keeps fucking up is because everyone got to see the mainstream media hyperventilate right from day one so it doesnt have any effect anymore. In alot of ways Trump has been awful but the media has went completely off the deepend with him, so they shoulder alot of the blame for the fact that half the country doesnt care what they think anymore.
imo... you are exactly correct. We keep seeing him screw up... I had nothing to say last week because I sort of bought into the fact trump really screwed up with the Putin statement. yet at the moment nothing has happened... upon reflection I think the public is correct. It really was no big deal. No one really cared about what he said about Russian interference.... so his need correction was no big deal either. I was sucked into a overblown leftist canard. What matters is the economy, the taxes, the sup ct judges, border control and safety. (and for me... inflation and liberty.)
