I would like to start a thread that pins down our expectations for Trump's Presidency based on things he has been saying and implying. We want him to know why he was elected. I will contribute the first few. 1. He will build a wall or have mexico pay for it and we will keep illegal aliens out... including potential terrorists. 2. He will not let in any population legally or otherwise which could have terrorists in it... There is no wiggle room on these two.
You never know about politicians. The Tea Party Republican electees folded like a cheap suit as soon as they got to Washington.
for those of you who are going to argue hillary will win. I suspect you are totally wrong. She could be in jail. He is going to crush her. He would have lost to plenty of other democrats... but not Hillary... imo. Nobody but a few older feminists and neo cons really want to vote for her anyway. She almost lost the primary season to a former communist. Trump is going to win and he promised the people we are going to get tired of winning again. I would like to see the people win on just a few issues. Had the republican establishment allowed us just a few wins on say obamacare and the budget there would have been no Trump anyway.
I know... I could not believe how brazen the sellout was. its why Trump is going to be President. Like wall street the establishment showed its short term short sighed greed... the underbelly was completely exposed. it was really stupid. they should have let the voters for the party have a win or 2. as I said above.
3. Tariffs against third-world producers (India, China, Mexico, Latin America etc). 4. Eliminate ISIS If Trump turns Benedict Arnold, look out. Conservatives will go nuts. I have faith.
Trump has three main issues, as I see it. Immigration/amnesty, trade deals and foreign interventions. He is skeptical of all three. There are a lot of other issues like gun rights, AGW, abortion, taxes, etc where we are not expecting anything dramatic from him but he better not sell us out on them either.
I know cruz spoke of eliminating the IRS. That his anti obamacare stance and his consistency with respect to following the constitution is why I preferred cruz at first. did Trump really say we are going to eliminate the IRS. I might have jumped on the bandwagon earlier.
