    Hi,

I know these are two very different things but which is better in terms of:

    1) Profitability or ROI
    2) Stress levels

    Thanks.

The way you state your question it assumes you have a process for making money with either one. I would suggest you learn both and do what fits the market at that time.

You are missing the point of your own question -- Risk versus Reward is what we play in this game of Life all the time, every day, going to work for someone else, or trading-for-gain in some asset market.

Day-trading can be done for little risk -- and little gain.
Options can be bought & sold for little risk, too -- and little gain.

You are looking to work a dichotomous frame onto two activities that comprise a fully-flesh spectrum of risk and reward each and by themselves. There be no dichotomy available.

  4. I'm starting to like being long options because of the implicit stop loss (0).

I am trading option strategies and 1% return per month (on total portfolio which is 30% trading options and 70% cash) is in sight but have not reached it yet. That's why I was wondering what kind of returns can you get in day trading.

Another way to look @ it; look on more than 2 things. 7 or 8 can help; + compare what you are dong with a benchmark like SPY. I like SPY better than the S&P500, one reason being WSJ had the S&P 500 up a bit;but SPY data [close price, 3:00 central Standard time, 4 EST]showed down a bit, earlier this month.:cool:

Sounds like you are doing great. Wouldn't change a thing.
