How many people have actually read an Al Brooks book in it's entirety please? I can't read mine (Reading Price Charts), I give up and go and read other trading Books. I believe there's probably valuable information in it, but it's just hard to read compared to other trading Books.

Show yourselves please, those who have endured reading a whole Book of his. You are Heroes to me, Ironmen and women. I'm going to try again.

We need The Great @padutrader back to summarize them for us.

my opinion is that they are written in poorly understandable English, with too long sentences and unclear concepts. the combo makes them unreadable

Yes I agree, but have you endured one Book in it's entirety?

I'm seeking those who have done it, I can't.

He's written four (not three), I assume you mean you've read the Trends book?

I'm trying his first one (Reading Price Charts) again, but it's so tedious to read.

Around 2010, I read Reading Price Charts Bar by Bar.
For me, there were few takeaways.

I trade bar-by-bar, but Brooks pedestrian and frankly amateurish mentions of volume (with time based charts, volume is also a bar by bar input!) cast the book as informational-only, for without volume there is no transaction, price be damned! That's my experience and belief anyway.

For me, Brooks degraded his "teachings" with a pseudo-disclaimer in the first chapter...
"Everything is relative and subject to constant reassessment even to
the point of totally changing your opinion about the direction of the market."

IOW, it's just another trading method. Takeaway the pieces that fit for you, if any.

    Don't ever read it.

The great @padutrader uses reward risk ratio of 1:2 instead of 2:1

Did he learn it from Al?

  8. Hello Darc,

I did not buy the books, but I did purchase the video course. Pretty good teaching and course.

I only bought first one, "friends" sent me other ones. Few bottles of rum, hmm, got through them in few weeks each. For someone educated, Brooks needs to go back to writting classes. It's like anything else, some good ideas, but one has to do much backtesting to see if they work for them.

    Books made for good kindling.

Kudos to you and @Handle123 on reading the whole Book/s. It's the hardest thing to struggle through imo.

Because he's primarily a Scalper and 5 minute Trader, I understand why he doesn't use Volume.
