ALL (109) of the countries above America ,

    HAVE 100% gun bans.

It might be of interest to note that SWITZERLAND is not shown on this list, because it has...NO MURDER OCCURRENCE!

However, SWITZERLAND 'S law requires that EVERYONE:
    1. Own a gun.
    2. Maintain Marksman qualifications ... regularly .

the message is - loud and clear...

    GUN bans and restrictions...

    DO NOT work!

By the way, murder is not legal in any of these countries. It is not the law or police or military or government that keeps a person safe from violence or mayhem, but the values of the society. The moral character and ethics of the people. Draw your own conclusions.

Any chance this is accurate? I didn't know so many countries had gun bans.

You're talking nonsense, few of those countries if any have "100% gun bans". Estonia for example has plenty of people with guns.
I guess you're comparing US to Zimbabwe and Honduras, countries where very few laws are enforced, instead of places like Germany or UK which are much better comparisons.

I've been to both Honduras and Chicago, I'd take my chances in Honduras any day.

in Africa, many rifles were captured from French and British troops and are passed down through the family. Those families with rifles have special status. But ammunition is so expensive, three bullets can equal a months income. Only the best marksmen are allowed to hunt. Perhaps somewhere in the city, the government has outlawed guns, but nobody pays any attention to the laws, and they are not enforced.

at anyrate, if you want to kill somebody, there are plenty of ways to do it without wasting a bullet.

Rick Snyder Vetoes Gun Bill Over Domestic Violence Concerns

Posted: 01/15/2015 1:05 pm EST Updated: 01/15/2015 4:59 pm EST

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) bucked the National Rifle Association on Thursday and vetoed a concealed carry gun bill that would have allowed some people with restraining orders issued against them for domestic violence to carry a concealed pistol.

"We simply can't and won't take the chance of exposing domestic abuse victims to additional violence or intimidation," Snyder said. "There are certainly some reforms that can improve the way Michigan issues concealed pistol licenses and we support the rights of law-abiding firearm owners, but it's crucial that we leave in place protections for people who already have endured challenges and abuse."

The controversial legislation, which was proposed to streamline the process for issuing concealed pistol licenses in Michigan, was strongly opposed by gun violence and domestic violence prevention advocates.

The bill would have revised current Michigan law to state that if an individual with a temporary personal protective order issued against him for domestic violence is not explicitly prohibited by a judge from having a gun, that person can legally obtain a concealed pistol license. Current law states that anyone with a PPO issued against him for domestic violence or stalking is prohibited from carrying a gun concealed.

Former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), who survived a gunshot to the head in 2011, wrote a letter to Snyder this week urging him to veto the bill.

"Domestic violence and access to firearms are a lethal combination, and this policy undermines the safety of American women," Giffords wrote."

I saw that this morning. Vive la Resistance.

Incidentally, the OP might want to provide further details on this report. Links would be nice. In the WHO report on violent death, only Albania was higher than the US regarding violent death by firearms. The "murder" list provided above could be murder by anything: guns, bottles, knives, clubs, chains, throwing out of windows, etc.

Probably about right. not a prediction. I don't know why Honduras has been number 1; but has been for some time. They have some strange laws there; no wearing camo on dove hunting cause the military wears camo.
