As I've already said, once the president concludes imminent threat to U.S. citizens/personnel, then he may authorize force by power of the constitution. Ask yourself this, Maxi: Why was Reagan able to move on Grenada without congress approval?
"no direct threat to the United States exists". And who is to say whether or not they are a direct threat? Written to be intenionally ambiguous. Sorry fella's, but Obama doesn't need shit from congress to launch an attack, just like his predecessors didn't need approval. We don't "declare war" anymore, we just go to war. And while I'm pointing out the bullshit, we all know these flag lapel wearing fucks would be beating the war drum if their boy was in office. Just calling a spade a spade.
Obama can also order the IRS to target conservative groups who may support his opposition, he can tell judges that reporters are spies, he can arm mexican drug cartels. There is a big difference between having the power and it being legal.
Grenada ... you mean that Marine photo op ... vs Syria, possible trigger to WW III ? Maybe higher stakes require more Congressional approval. Just my opinion. I'm sure you're right
Politicians warn an attack on Syria could open Pandora's box. As soon as the bombing starts i'm inviting my neighbor Pandora for a 'coffee'.
Lol! And on a serious note, I agree the US attacking Syria would be a mistake. Most countries don't respect our spineless, communist president and it shows. Putin, for example, tosses him around like a rag doll. Speaking of Putin, an attack on Syria will piss off Russia. It will also inflame Iran, and Hezbollah. Do we need these people Inflamed at this point in time? We've gotta STOP being the world's cop!
American Lefties/Communists are like fanatical Muslims. All they can see is what they WANT! That which is right, righteous, fair, reasonable, etc.... not even a consideration.... all they care about is "what they want... and no cost is too high to pay".
