I think you are confusing ayn rand's philosophy with mine. she really says here that the soviets and the hitler and the worst govt preach altruism and self sacrifice for the state.

Google bowed to that demand Monday, announcing that it would sever ties with ALEC because of the group's stand on climate change. "Everyone understands climate change is occurring, and the people who oppose it are really hurting our children and our grandchildren and making the world a much worse place. And so we should not be aligned with such people — they're just, they're just literally lying," Schmidt said in an interview with NPR's Diane Rehm on Monday.
Naomi Klein makes the case that the capitalist economic model is waging war against life on Earth, a conflict Klein calls the most profound threat humanity has ever faced: https://news.vice.com/article/naomi...seeing-is-the-birth-of-a-new-climate-movement So capitalism must end to save the planet evidently. I've never heard such a load of crap in my life.
There is an alarming trend occurring in Chicago. Monday was warmer than Sunday. Tuesday was warmer than Monday. Wednesday will be warmer than Tuesday. This trend shows the largest increases since records have been kept, which is last Sunday. Extrapolating this out I'd say we have less than a month before the Chicago is on fire. There is no debate, no argument can be made, the science is settled. Chicago will be uninhabitable within 30 days unless we raise taxes.
I don't agree with her. They are separate issues and trying to tie one to the other can only hurt the cause of reducing CO2 by alienating folks. Many corporations are making moves to reduce their carbon footprint. The last thing that the clean energy movement needs is to be associated with socialism. It is already somewhat there in the fevered imaginations of nut job righties like jerm.
Environmentalism is "associated" with socialism, anti-capitalism if you wish, in the sense that it rejects the belief that profits come first.
yeah right... nut jobs righties who see co2 nutters saying we must have totalitarian govt so we can order the reduction of co2. or those who see the cronies getting on top of the carbon trading game. or those who wonder why you never provide any science showing man made co2 causes warming or not job righties who believe in intelligent conservation and once worked as and environmental attorney and volunteered his time to clean ocean and bay groups.
Lead plaintiff attorney for a clean bay and ocean group. I volunteered significant time as a young attorney to clean ocean and bay groups. I planned to be an environmental attorney and would have kept doing it if the groups had not fallen under control of the politicans who became their main funding mechanism... I was done when they called off one of our cases.. (not yet filed that time) after we put a ton of time in. I still want to see cleaner and preserved ocean and fisheries. I still hate wasting water and resources. I don't even like turning on the heat or the a/c. I agree with Hansen, society does not allocate resources properly if we don't price in their clean up into the price. I wrote that here a few times prior to ever seeing Hansen say that. The issue with co2 is that we don't even know what man made co2 is doing. It is plant food.
