Those who abuse freedoms threaten them " (CNN)When you leave your house of worship, you don't usually expect to be greeted by hundreds of bikers, possibly armed, intent on insulting your religion with expletives emblazoned on their T-shirts and a drawing contest intended to mock your prophet. Yet judging by the last time I checked a certain Facebook page, that is exactly the kind of outright racism and bigotry that some Arizonan Muslims can expect to be treated to this evening...." http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/29/opinions/moghul/index.html
I saw these guys on CNN, Anderson made a total ass out of the leader of their group, no doubt that they are total assholes, they basically want to stand outside a mosque armed to the teeth with "fuck islam" t-shirts on. The sad thing is that the people who do shit like this only serve the purpose of creating more radicals. There are women and children going to this place that are going to see a bunch of rednecks armed to the teeth screaming profanities at them, what impression are they going to have of America? This is really in poor taste, though i support both first and second ammendment rights. It really is a shame that the radicals never seem to meet up with the other radicals, it would be nice if we could throw them all in a cage with weapons so they could just wipe themselves out.
You don't seem to get it that popular speech doesn't require protection. The type of speech that requires Constitutional protection is generally abhorrent to the majority. For example, conservatives could have banned advocacy for gay marriage in many states. They could have prosecuted people for objecting to the Iraq war, just like they actually did during WW II when liberal icon FDR was in office. Life isn't always easy as a religious minority, particularly when a substantial segment of that religion thinks terrorism and jihad are acceptable. The solution is not to ban distasteful criticsm; it is to make sure that criticism doesn't cross the line into illegal activity.
With the exception of being armed, homos have staged these kinds of protests at churches on many occasions. Churches in San Francisco and James D Kennedy's church in Ft Lauderdale. Standing outside with signs and screaming and yelling profanities. Of course CNN would never mention those as a possible threat to freedom of speech. Because there are a different set of rules for powerful democrats, negroes, and queers.
The gays do it aswell, but do you really want your behaviour to be linked to the militant gays in the gaystapo? I agree CNN never has a problem with it either, but the response shouldnt be to act like them, it should be to just continue exposing them until people get sick of their bullying. You dont solve the problem by imitating the lowest common denominator. Geller actually had a point about western media with her draw muhammad protest, these guys are just being assholes.
