Yes, the Germans came to the U.S. because it was much more affordable to raise a child in the U.S. and the education system was much better. Not to mention economic opportunity
So if the Universities outside the U.S. then how come you came to the U.S. for your college and grad school education?
2015 brother. You are >80 years behind, in case you refer to German immigrants to the US. Otherwise I would have to think extremely hard to come up with another German student I ever met who studied in the US.

There is so many German students are Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and NC State in the Triangle area of North Carolina that they have a German Student Association.
What percentage of your German High School went to a 4 year university in Germany? Let me give you the 1960 answer... it was 4%. Has this percentage increased, I hope so. At any rate I will bet it is much lower percentage than the U.S.
...that probably comprises a few dozen alumni over the past years. And why is this important by the way? Did anyone claim American top education is in any way inferior to the one at other countries? Or are you possibly suffering from an inferiority complex thinking that anyone who dares to discuss your country tries to attack you?
