Yes, America will (successfully) Balkanize by the time we reach that point, I believe.

  2. It was financial fraud on a massive scale...ala madoff

China's former 68th richest person had alledgedly swindled nearly 390 million yuan ($57 million) from 11 people in one of the country's biggest financial frauds committed by a woman if convicted, a court in Zhejiang province was told yesterday.

The indictment said she had collected nearly 390 million yuan for the "purpose of possession", promising high returns.

She told victims she would use the money to register companies, invest in projects, loan out or improve cash flow for her business.

But she instead used it to pay off loans and incurred interest, buy real estate and cars, or spent it on personal consumption.

No, I'm not. Their labor movement has been gaining a lot of ground. Their environmental movement is larger than ours, per capita. The former has been winning actual wage and working conditions battles. The latter, perhaps it is not so effective, as your response indicates. Nevertheless, these processes are in motion.

"Processes in motion"? They are putting lead in the skulls of young women on cold basement floors for being too successful, and you're worried about the f-ing trees and the "per capita size of the environmental movement"? Really?! Dude, they are executing young business people who provide jobs and pay taxes. Executing them like fcking dogs after 5 hour hearings, for being too successful for a certain click of local good ole boys. And you are defending them?! Why? How? Do you have any actual moral or ethic besides defending communism at all costs? Even when it means trying to defend barbaric murderers by saying that they take care of the trees? Please, tell me how I'm misunderstanding you.

Just FYI, you do know that China is one of the most racist nations on Earth, right? You DO know that Tienanmen Square was largely about the presence of black exchange students, and black exchange students trying to bed local girls, right? You DO know they still have signs in China which read "do not dispose of your unwanted/dead baby in this lake", right?

They already had the revolution, remember? Elements of totalitarianism are likely to remain in China for a long, long time and Americans are ill-equiped to understand the Chinese mindset, the closest being when they flooded North Korea with hundreds of thousands of soldiers in the 1950's.

I didn't realize 1) that you knew more about the case than what we're reading on the internet, and 2) that this is so widespread.

Haha, so you were going to try to pull a quick one on me until you realized I knew more about China than the article eh? Heh, busted!

I don't know what you mean by "so widespread", but China leads the world in per capita executions, and many of them are for these "business" related crimes. That being the case, I would think they are wide spread by any western notion of the term.

I was being facetious. Anyway, there is no denying that China is modernizing, and that it's not perfect by any means.

Yeah, it just seems like you are trying to downplay some of the horrific shit that's going on over there right now, I'd suspect that you want to take up for anything "communist" at any cost, or find SOME way to portray it positively? Just speculation on my part obviously. I just don't get taking up for those guys period, whether they proclaim to be operating on your favorite OS or not. M2c

No, I'm trying to keep the world in perspective, and not cherry pick the news to find tidbits that support my capitalist or socialist views.

    Edit: or racist views.
