Well back to trading. After receiving a little trash talk about the number of my trades in the first 45 minutes today -- (Hey I love a little trash talking esp on the golf course and while we are on trash talk I could not even make it past the first two stanzas of that poem Overnight posted). Anyway I flipped back to my small AMP account and did 26 more trades in the afternoon. I was experimenting with scalping and tried something new. Instead of trading at the market I bought the bid and sold the asking price. Most of the time there is enough noise that I got filled. When successful this saves you a tick on both sides of the trade. Has anybody traded this way. My trades are posted below. One thing of interest there is not much open loss on the profitable trades and not much open profit on the losing trades. Made $76.25 Gross but only $45 net so it is not too effective with the high commission MES. I will convert results to ES for comparison.
This little experiment in scalping does not seem like much but this spreadsheet conversion to ES actually made 13 net ES points. With the opinion in this and the other thread that averaging 8 points long term is impossible I find this interesting. I may do some more of this and maybe update and post my spreadsheet.
