Replying to my own post or thinking out loud? A bad sign is posting a 1 hour YouTube video of jet engine noise 200 times here. Next.
(Snip) “many U.S. firms reported losses associated with IPR infringement in China, including losses in sales, profits, and license and royalty fees, as well as damage to brand names and product reputation.” The Commission estimates that firms in the U.S. IP-intensive economy that conducted business in China in 2009 reported losses of approximately $48.2 billion in sales, royalties, or license fees due to IPR infringement in China. It’s worse now. https://www.usitc.gov/publications/332/pub4226.pdf
ROFL. K, I'll give you that one. That is damned funny. (Sorry, I like jet noises! They soothe me) Here, have some other soothing?
I do not know how to approach this report on the fakemakers. All I know is, it has been going on for a long time, yet the USA has an economy that is still growing. Yes, even with all this IP theft. *shrugs*
I'm not going to grace that link with a click. Explain to me, in simple words, how that has affected our lives in the USA or in any country for that matter.. I want to hear it in your words. YOURS.
It just is. 1 in 5 US firms say they have been fucked over by China IP theft in the last year. Sure we are still growing...but that’s in spite of this. I learned a long time ago that if you step on a man’s shoes, you better not leave any scuff marks. Should we just let them dance all over ours and say Thank You?
Well then you are asking questions whose answers you fear. Let me click it for you: One in Five U.S. Companies Say China Has Stolen Their Intellectual Property A new CNBC poll finds that one in five corporations say China has stolen their intellectual property within the last year. Intellectual property, or IP, theft has been a major contentious issue in trade talks between the Trump administration and China. IP theft—use of patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights without permission—may seem dry to many. But it represents big money. Intangible assets, which include IP, make up 80% of the value of S&P 500 companies, according to the Harvard Business Review. IP theft may not seem the same as taking physical property, but it represents either a loss of opportunity or of competitive advantage that reduces the money a company could have made. The U.S. Trade Representative has estimated the annual loss to China at between $225 billion and $600 billion, according to CNN. There are different ways Chinese companies reportedly obtain U.S. IP. Corporate espionage and cyberattacksare two, according to Axios. But so is forced technology transfers, in which the Chinese government compels companies investing in China to provide IP details and licenses. The Trump administration has delayed additional tariffs that were supposed to go into effect March 1 because of progress in trade talks. But it is unclear whether there has been any progress on IP issues.
You have never run a business. You have never done business in China, or anywhere for that matter. Amirite? I’m not sure you understand what IP is and why it’s valuable. You don’t have to have a business degree to know this. Learn about it. I’m not your fucking mentor or college professor.
You did not explain to me, in your simple words, how IP theft has hurt you. How has it hurt anyone here on this forum? Mmm?
