  1. The more confirmations in a play the better.

The bigger the surprise/faliure the better.

The smaller the risk the better.

I make an effort to become a Casino, and not the player when trading, odds in your favor.

Absolute zero bias. When I'm thinking short at the same time I'm thinking where long should the short fail or even work.

It's a game of probability, nothing else.

I don't claim or even known of any special tricks, it's all in the traders' experience and ability to control impatience while staying calm when things work or don't work.

Forgive me if I am intruding Duref, but something that interests me is the etymology of Anekdoten\'s name. Is he Egyptian? It is an exotic name, wherever it comes from, so it is interesting.

  4. hey man,

those are self contradictory--- small risk = small surprises and even smaller gains.

the market rewards the risk takers--- risk is proportional to reward.

    what am i missing?

  5. Very subtle, Anekdoten, you won't be pinned down! Interesting that you will not let your style be categorized. Can you at least say if you favor market orders or limit orders, and why?

  6. Hi Surf,

Obviously not all of the things I listed need to happen at once, I just mentioned the scenarios I prefer.

However for the sake of explanation.

Have you ever bought a double bottom with a miniature stop that exploded for 12x (or more) the risk as you rode the trendline into the sky ? Sometimes even riding into the end of the day or even afterhours ?

Or how about a V bottom as soon as it breaks the downtrendline returning to it's starting point in minimal time ? Yesterday NQ afternoon comes to mind, missed it too.

Minimal risk, great reward with big element of surprise scenarios happens all the time.

  7. Plodder, I avoided asking that out of respect for his privacy. Evidently Anekdoten does not want to get too specific, which I can certainly sympathize with myself. There are two possibilities. Anekdoten is German for anecdotes. And also the name of a Euro rock group. Gargling might reveal other possibilities.

  8. A note to readers: questions from the floor are much welcomed, as long as they are respectful and intelligent.

As usual, Duref, you are the master impressario; the host with the most.

  10. Anekdoten is just anecdotes in german.

It is also a progressive band from Sweden.
