At what point is it Obama's fault?

Obama has been at worst a neutral strength president, and an argument could be made that Republicans haven't allowed many of his policy decisions to go into practice. Blaming him for the mess he inherited is not fair. And he gets a lot of flak because he's black and has a different ethnic background; most of America is progressive enough to understand that this is not an issue, but there remains a small minority of generally racist people who are very vocal about their ignorance. So we hear them, the P&R section is full of these people.

Americans have only themselves to blame for increased unemployment, lower house prices ( for some ), higher taxes, the subprime disaster, crime issues, and the prospect of higher social program costs in the years to come. For example, you elected George W. twice ( some others not impressive either, but he symbolizes the worst your system has ever produced ), you allowed your country to funnel most of it's wealth to the richest 1%, and you under payed on taxes and social programs for possibly decades. The true cost of all of these decisions will occur now. Most of the complaints some of you have is in fact the "blame game", and a refusal to understand the real new reality of what the US is. It's still one of most prosperous countries in the world, but it's got plenty of company in that regard now. Life in the US will not be as easy for the middle class, and no current President or even the next couple of them will change that. Your kids may legitimately end up paying for baby boomers mistakes.

Do not claim I am Democrat or liberal or try to label me. I'm Canadian, I have a true outsider view on these issues in the US, and have no advantage to take a position except on the basis of global harmony and well being. On that front, Obama has been better then many recent US presidents. Maybe not fully to the degree I'd like, but I suspect the two party system and constant deadlocks makes evaluating what can be done difficult. Policies tend to become watered down to appease the other party involved.

The question of "When is it Obama's fault ?" is not the right question. Almost every major issue in the US existed before he came to power, and the major recession / depression that some predicted was averted with strong, decisive monetary policy. Given time, his legacy won't be bad at all, it might seem underwhelming, but guys like George W. will be infamous forever. And I wonder if Americans understand how truly hated George and his political buddies outside of the US ? Obama has restored some faith in Americans. Perhaps you are expecting far too much from him given the cards he was dealt.

This is a good example of why people who know little about US politics should refrain from issuing arrogant pronouncements.

A short list of things obama created, all on his own: destruction of health insurance for millions; a trillion dollars of national debt; destabilized three middle east countries, Egypt, Libya and Syria, leading islamist radicals to take root in two of them; bungled exit from Iraq; bungled exit from afghanistan; turned nations' militaries into vehicles for radical social engineering; racial demagoguery and anti-police rhetoric leading to worst racial divisions in decades; refusal to enforce immigration laws leading to vast invasion of illegals and bogus asylum seekers; attempts to impose unproven AGW agenda on country through EPA, leading to economic disasters for (non-democrat) regions of the country; etc etc.

He has been a terrible, corrosive stain on the Whtie House, not least because of his defiance of the Constitution. He shares blame however with a cowardly republican establishment that has refused to stand up to him.

I know Canadians like to think their country is vastly important, just like the Brits, French, Germans etc all do. Frankly, we couldn't care less what your opinion of us or our leaders is. I care more what Putin thinks. We know he has the same opinion of obama that most white, taxpaying americans have.

Before this era is over, they're going to have to invent new classes of mental illnesses to accurately describe these kind of people. There just haven't been any words invented yet to describe how confused these leftists are.

HOUSTON, Texas — Two daycare workers have been fired for refusing to go along with the center’s transgender agenda. Madeline Kirksey, one of the workers who is an author of a Christian book, says her religious liberty rights have been violated. The two were fired after refusing to call a little girl a boy. The two male parents of a six-year-old little girl told employees at the school to refer to their daughter as a boy, and to call her by a new masculine name. The little girl’s hair had also been cut like a boy’s. Kirksey told Breitbart Texas

  7. What frightens me is that they actually have been given the power to assert their delusions on society at large...It's pretty clear that the hammer is being dropped with so many of these stories in recent years...

I'm guessing that the reason they added +165,000 phantom jobs to the most recent payroll report from the birth/death model, when more businesses were actually being closed than opened since obama was placed in office...

  10. Sure, you're blaming Obama for the crossover that occurred before Obama took office. The culmination of all of GWB's great work...
