  2. I'll make a prediction about you EMG, if or when you do make it to the mega big time you wont brag about it and you'll be a lot nicer guy than you are now. I have a few friends in that mega successful category, and a couple of them made it in the oil business and they are some of the nicest people you can imagine.
Oh you want to know about me, I'm a carpenter by trade and run a small construction business and my trading consists of managing my retirement account, the best I did day trading was a little above break even, and that didn't pay the bills. Although I'm considering giving it another shot.

  3. I think you and I faired the same with "DAYTRADING". I made some money but it was Break Even in my mind.

I think longer term position holding is more equitable. I have been playing long term trends in non-us markets and I seem to be doing ok. The longer term goal allows me to pay attention to my income making game with out a lot of distractions.

LOL, I'm far from bragging. If I wanted to Brag I would post pictures of things I have. etc. I do not see myself becoming Mega Big Time.

Trying to push for 7 zeros every year is enough for me. I'm not looking to become SOROS or Rockerfella, although I do own some interested in Oil Wells that pay out a nice %. But that is my retirement as they will pump for 30 years plus. All that Fun Money goes into Rainy Day fund.

I am nice. I'm not attacking you. I do not know you as a person.
I'm sure OBAMA is a nice guy. I do loath the ideas and "Principles' that the Liberals in this country hold dear.

I perceive the liberal philosophy as my Enemy and as a Cancer that is going, not will but is going to succeed in destroying Capitalism in this country. But so be it as there are other countries that will be willing to embrace capitalist when the time has come to leave the US.

Construction is a hard business. Not sure if you know the name Zackery. I know them very well. They have had a slowdown and they are one of the Largest in Texas.

Many small construction companies in Texas are gone. If they were not in bed with the Bidding for Government work, having a minority employee as manager for "Special Consideration", they are sucking wind. Leone Construction is another name, a friend of mine's family started that company in Detroit. Built a lot of stuff in D-town. He was down in San Antonio making some great revenue with Gov. Contracts. However, they have dried up and he is now working on a big Solar Farm Project in New Mexico. He understands the Game of GOV contracts and the GOV is in on that play.

So, I am surprised that your in construction but yet fall for the Parasite's propaganda.

  4. Hello

    Hello

Bigarrow, Im curious as to why you keep making the assertion that someone will agree with your left wing, big government ideals once that person makes more money, or gains more "experience" in life.

For the most part from what i have seen in life, the people who run businesses who gain "experience" in dealing with the government go further to the right. I have met very few people who look at the way that government screws their business through regulation, or taxation, and then convert to big government, authoritarian ideology.

Also please tell me in your opinion why the heros of the left like Buffet and Gates, are donating their money to charities (mostly over seas), as opposed to donating their money to the government.... (for the record, im all for the willfull donation of time/money to charity I just dont like it forced at the barrell of a gun.)

I suppose you could also mention George Soros, ironically as a beneficiary of capitalism, he is now the darling of the state corporatist left. In his defence, Soros did contribute a lot towards making Eastern Europe "open democracies"...

Of course, Soros is now advocating financial transaction taxes. Perhaps we should go one step further and back-date those taxes to every single transaction Mr Soros made (including the alleged insider trades)?

Whenever I meet someone who is rich and anti-capitalist, I say to them, "Sure..let's change the system, but can you wait a few years for me to get rich first before we set taxes really high for everyone else?!"

Another success story of capitalism might be Paul Tudor Jones, legendary trader and founder of the Robin Hood Foundation, tackling poverty in New York:-

Money to charity, not to government. I wonder why?

  6. Hello

    Hello

Actually I intentionally left out Soros, he is a reprehensible scumbag who does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Buffet and Gates. But your point is still valid.

I think that's a little strong, fellow trader! I think Soros is well intentioned, just he lost the plot a little when he came into power. Double standards? YES.

It does happen. Something even the ET Marxists would agree on.

I saw that programme on Fox News about him being a "puppeteer" for Obama...a little OTT, I think. If he's the puppeteer then I don't see many strings being broken.

    "What do we want?"
    "CHANGE!"
    "When do we want it?"
    "NOW!"

...It's just that Soros was too busy philosophizing, Obama too busy lecturing...
    :)

That's true, but I think I have one that's even better. Suggest to a Leftist/statist that the country peacefully secede. It could be geographical, but no bloody civil war or anything. Or maybe it could be two tax systems. I've heard a rumor that Ron Paul has proposed letting people have a low flat tax but permanently "opt out" of Social Security, gov't health care and other programs. You don't fund them but you also can't take part in them.

The Left should love this. They should say "We can have our Welfare Utopia and let those conservative/libertarian/Fox News/religious/gold-loving nut jobs ruin themselves!"

But would they? I think they'd be very opposed to anything like that. And how long would Oprah, Buffet, Soros, Gates & Co. be willing to finance their high-tax, highly-regulated, heavily-unionized, welfare dream state?

    Not long.

They would be opposed, for the same reason that OECD nations with their high taxes can't stand "unfair tax competition" from tax havens, just because they manage their finances better.

Socialists want to impose their moral righteousness on others, using force. Force, not reason, is the language they understand. Free will, aspiration and freedom from the state are all deemed evil concepts. THEY WANT TO OWN YOU.

"Competition kills" should be the slogan for all socialists
(hidden meaning: if you try to compete with us, we will kill you)

  10. MK...

I love TEXAS and I hear what your saying. I doubt we will succeed at this moment.

This Damn Yankee doesn't see the signs. However, I do see the signs that TEXAS is going to fight the GOV and tell them to keep a arms length. Ron Paul, Perry, and the people who are not "Illegal" in Texas (Including Mexicans who are legal and strong supporters of
libertarian ideas) are far to strong to bow down to the PARASITES.

Texas has it's problems but it is the number one state for Companies to move to now. Head Quarters, Call Centers, Manufacturing, divisions are moving out of the Blue States fast and heading to Texas.

AUSTIN is about to absorb a lot of Tech Companies who are fleeing California. Austin is on the path to becoming bigger in Tech than the Silicon Valley.

And this Texas Reporter calls out OBAMA hard!

    http://www.wfaa.com/news/texas-news/President-Obama-talks-with-News-8--120141169.html

So, while the state constitution gives Texas the right to succeed and the fact that Texas is not a state but a REPUBLIC, one of the few "States" in this country that have the right to succeed.....I do not see that happening in my life time.

Unless we go full civil war. Texas will tell the Progressives to go fuck themselves and the GOV will leave TEXAS alone. As long as OBAMA keeps his distance....Texas will not rattle the saber.
