I'm going to give honorable mention to the Chevy Caprice and Ford Crown Victoria. There are reasons they were so popular with police beyond price. Roomy, rugged, adequate horsepower. I've had people try to run me off the road and I've had to bump a few off the road in turn. I've also had to take the Caprice "four wheeling" and been in chases. I've never been disappointed with it and on several occasions was really surprised at how well it and my Crown Vic performed. Lastly, no matter how well off you are you must admit, you will be a lot less hesitant when it comes time to plow some criminal off the road if you are in a <$50,000 car vs. a $500,000 car.
He said production car......Rolls Royces and Phantoms are still made by hand in limited quantities each year. I don't consider them a production car. Or Ferrari, Lamborghini etc... Porsche yes ......... And a BMW is luxury if you came from a Jeep Cherokee........... Are Rolls Royces as unreliable now as they were several years ago? There was a cliche that Rolls Royce should provide you a mechanic with every car sold because they broke down so much. Has it gotten better?
I buy a car to drive it, not to push somebody off the road. But you can do that without damaging your car:
