Better off as a plumber?

Is the value of an education reaching "not worth it" levels?

  1. Yes. It is one big ego trip and many jobs pay well with minimal education.

  1. Is that because they missed out on the fun of the college lifestyle?

"Recent graduates usually start out at 120 - 160% of the minimum wage so you'll earn more than most plumbers right out of college."
numbers are not correct because plumbers make much than 140% of the minimum wage.

  4. Sounds like a personal problem.

If I had a 2 year degree, I'd hang out with people who had a 4 year degree. If I had a four year degree I'd hang out with Phd's. Frankly, if I'm the smartest guy in the room - I leave.

  6. Who knows. Most of us want the most what we don't/can't have--- money, love, sex, education-whatever- having one of the fattest house in Miami and the largest boat doesn't bring satisfaction. surf
