Last time US was reluctant in joining the war in WW2, look what happened. You want the same thing to happen again? It's a mess in Eastern Europe is not an excuse. And besides last time, the missiles were deployed in countries that were close to both US and Russia respectively so should there be any new development militarily, both countries can take swift actions to defend themselves. This time, Ukraine and Eastern Europe are right beside Russia and yet they are an ocean away on another continent from the USA. Should there be any new development that's unfavorable to US and Europe that choose to embrace democracy, the USA would be at a military disadvantage relatively speaking if it's to retreat from Eastern Europe and stop its military exercises altogether. This is why I am so shocked that Biden would suggest that, a move that puts the US at a disadvantage even before a potential war.
