Trump ridiculed for meltdown on Gen. Colin Powell after CNN appearance

As might be expected, Donald Trump did not care for the comments made by former Secretary of State Colin Powell on CNN Sunday morning — including his endorsement of Joe Biden as the next president of the United States, so the president lashed out on Twitter.

With Powell calling out the president for his treatment of Gold Star families and accusing bthe president of being a “liar” Trump tweeted back,”Colin Powell, a real stiff who was very responsible for getting us into the disastrous Middle East Wars, just announced he will be voting for another stiff, Sleepy Joe Biden. Didn’t Powell say that Iraq had “weapons of mass destruction?” They didn’t, but off we went to WAR!”

Your fantasy is that there are any grounds for impeachment The only impeachment of a Supreme Court justice in American history was that of Samuel Chase in1804. His acquittal by a lop-sided margin established:
    • the separation of the branches of government. Federal judges since this time have never been impeached over their judicial decisions. This acquittal ensured that an independent federal judiciary would survive partisan challenges.
    • that federal judges will only be impeached for outright criminality while they held their position as a judge.

A new poll shows presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden with a substantial lead over incumbent President Donald Trump in Michigan.

The survey shows Biden with a 12 point lead, with 53% of those polled saying they’d vote for the former Vice President. Just 41% said they’d re-elect Trump. Six percent said they were undecided or refused to say who they were voting for.

Michigan, along with a handful of other states, are considered “battlegrounds” that could help pick the next president.

The Great Lakes state gave its 16 electoral votes to Donald Trump in 2016. He beat Hillary Clinton by around 11,000 votes (.3%) out of more than 4.5 million ballots cast. It was the first time a Republican had won Michigan since George W. Bush was elected in 1988.

Other questions in the poll could explain Biden’s lead:

    • 63% of those asked say the country is on the “wrong track”.
    • Trump has a 41% “favorable” rating and a 56% “unfavorable rating. Biden is slightly more favored (50%) than unfavored (46%).
    • When asked to rate the job he’s doing, 42% gave him a positive rating and 56% gave him a negative rating.
    • When asked how he’s handling the Coronavirus crisis, 41% gave him a positive rating and 58% gave him a negative rating.
    • When asked, without naming a competitor, if they’d “replace” Trump, “re-elect” him, or “consider voting for someone else”, 51% of those polled say they’d vote to “replace” him.

My understanding is that The House can impeach for whatever it deems is a high crime or misdemeanor. That's number one.

Secondly, do you really think that if it is later found that a potus, or a justice, was elected/confirmed fraudulently; that no remedy is available?

Thirdly, please cite your source for this statement: "that federal judges will only be impeached for outright criminality while they held their position as a judge."

As I outlined the Samuel Chase impeachment in 1804 established the standard of a independent federal judiciary in the United States. As noted in the Wikipedia summary - "All judges impeached since Chase have been accused of outright criminality."

If Congress followed a standard of that they could vote out anyone they viewed was confirmed fraudulently then every time the power in Congress changed parties we would see dozens of federal judges impeached under this type of claim be removed on political grounds.

Wouldn't you expect a Democratic Congress would have impeached Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas by now if they thought they could concoct some sort of claim about "fraudulent confirmation". There was nothing fraudulent about the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh - the confirmation hearing was held, some controversy occurred, and the Senate confirmed him --- end of story.

The Wikipedia entries and cited sources -- including ALL of the federal judge impeachment cases since 1804 clearly demonstrate "that federal judges will only be impeached for outright criminality while they held their position as a judge". If Congress impeached judges for their decisions on the bench or for any supposed crimes they committed before becoming a judge then it would clearly violate the standard of an independent federal judiciary.
