Bitcoin forks: Money for nothing, sex for free

    Well I've read that something that goes up on bad news is a buy. Easier said than done though. Not touching bitcoin.

  2. Long-term it's not bad news. It means there's one less BTC clone - less competition for BTC. My understanding is 2X was winner take all idea. It would take over or disappear.

    Not that it matters anymore, but this SW2 split was going to be different from the BCH split. Let's someone else explain it:

    " The BCH fork didn't kill either chain as it implemented replay protection. The 2x fork was not going to include replay protection. This fork was not going to be the same as the BCH fork. Transactions on the 2x chain could have potentially been repeated on the 1x chain and vice versa until one of them died."

  4. Sort of. but really, if you split your coins into different wallets, then the replay possibility is gone forever for that pair. Most people would do that. On exchanges, people would trade out of one side or the other, splitting the coins. Very few coins would be replay attacked. And even then, the attacker would only benefit by having both coins, so why would one die? The attacker would splitthem himself.
