Borrow fee on HKD is 1060% but 0% intraday?

  1. It is probably impossible to find shares to borrow. Does anyone have any luck finding shares to borrow on any platform?

At some point there will be shares to borrow.

Is it correct that as long as you borrow shares, sell short intraday and close the position before the end of the trading day, you will not pay the borrow fee in this case 1060%?

Not only that, shorting is not allowed (shortable status red). Yes, interest on shorts is calculated EOD, if it was calculated intraday, how would it work? You pay one day interest at borrow?

I do not understand the relationship between HKD and AMTD, but there seem to be one. AMTD is currently up 3.94 and we have shares available on our third party locate system.

Let’s take a step back. Any security you are short that your clearing broker can’t borrow to make good delivery or can’t replace a borrow they had in place, can subject you to a buy-in with almost no notice. To answer your question now, IMO it is highly likely on a Threshold stock and should be expected on part or all of your position when it hits the NYSE or Nasdaq website. That means it is street wide. When it is just a small number of clearing brokers, they can often find stock last minute.
