Let's see how things are going in California where nearly nobody follows the mask mandate or social distancing rules.

Bodies pile up, patient care falters as COVID-19 devastates L.A. County hospitals
    https://www.latimes.com/california/...ne-would-believe-this-is-in-the-united-states

Los Angeles County’s healthcare system was buckling Wednesday under the unprecedented surge of COVID-19 patients, with bodies piling up at morgues and medical professionals resorting to increasingly desperate measures as they brace for conditions to worsen in the coming weeks.

With hospitals overwhelmed by patients and no outlet valve available, doctors, nurses and paramedics are being forced to make wrenching choices about who gets care and at what level.

“No one would believe this is in the United States,” said Scott Byington, a critical care nurse at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood. “Everyone is doing what they can do. It’s not that anybody is slacking. It’s just that it’s too overwhelming for everyone.”

Hospital morgues are so full that the National Guard is being called in to help county workers as corpses are moved into storage at the L.A. County Department of the Medical Examiner-Coroner. The overcrowded crypts at hospitals are a result of private mortuaries running out of space and staff to handle the unprecedented number of COVID-19 deaths.

The deteriorating conditions came as Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that a new, potentially more contagious variant of the coronavirus identified in the United Kingdom had been found in Southern California, though officials said the findings were not unexpected and should not cause undue alarm.

Los Angeles County on Wednesday tallied its 10,000th COVID-19 death. On the same day, it recorded 262 deaths, breaking the single-day record for COVID-19 deaths for the second day in a row. L.A. County is now averaging about 129 COVID-19 deaths a day over the past week, a figure that has never been higher.

    ‘Unfortunate outcomes’

While officials have not provided details on patients who suffered because resources were not available, it’s clear the crisis is taking a terrible toll on care.

Dr. Christina Ghaly, the L.A. County health services director, said Wednesday, “There have been some unfortunate outcomes from patients in hospitals and ambulances across the county who couldn’t be offloaded into an emergency department in a timely manner.”

County officials have been concerned about patients suffering from things such as strokes, heart attacks and seizures waiting in ambulances outside hospitals, said Cathy Chidester, director of the county Emergency Medical Services Agency. “The early intervention, in some of these cases if you don’t get it, may lead to worse outcomes,” she said.

The crush of patients has led the county to allow certain types of ambulance patients to be offloaded into the waiting room instead of the emergency room, according to memos issued by the EMS agency.

Additionally, 911 patients who have a do-not-resuscitate directive will not be taken to acute-care facilities such as a hospital, nor will certain trauma patients whose hearts have stopped.

The agency is also allowing emergency medical service providers to decline to take low-risk patients to hospitals with mild respiratory illnesses.

All of this is driven by people in California now following the rules... here is yet another example...

    you are a total liar.
virtually everyone follows the mask mandate indoors because the stores and businesses demand it... and that is where the data shows the virus spreads. you lying sack of shit.

We are the most repressed Covid state in the country.
    Our rights have been slaughtered.
We have tons of lefties going around acting like you in public and on social media.

And its our govt's policies which have failed.
its not the people's fault its the govt's fault.
Creating policies which don't directly remedy the main issue.
Prevent the high risk from getting infected.

L.A. Has millions of illegal immigrants packed into houses with multiple familes.
This is a powder keg of death... because of our open borders and free money and health care policies.

Don't blame the people for responding to financial incentives and the opportunity
    to improve their financial life.

This is entirely on the Government of CA who is supremely Democrat and the Govt of the US which govern poorly per the wishes of the establishment and its cronies.

You are claiming that all the news video of well-to-do white maskless people non-socially distanced at events all over California have nothing to do with the spread of COVID. Let's blame it on all the illegal immigrants since they are poor.

Stop complaining about your "rights" and start thinking about the lives of many across the country. Your absurd assertions regarding "natural herd immunity" and "lock up the at-risk" -- only imply death and misery for millions.

no... I am not making that argument.
I am saying examine the data and use the data to
design remedies tailored to the significant spread.

    you have misrepresented my argument.
    go back and read it.

And I would never blame the people for the spread of virus.
That is stupid.. dumb.. and anti human.
Anyone who blames people for the spread of a highly infections virus is either low IQ or pre fascist.
This is government's fault or at least sub optimal public policy.

    finally you moron..
if we can lock down everyone and destroy peoples businesses and lives.
We could certainly have locked down the high risk better.
Of course... that would have taken better explanations using data
and providing for remedies that actually match the issues we are trying to solve.
    As opposed to PC stupidity.

We all know you have no understanding about data.... you just attempt to twist data to drive your absurd "natural herd immunity" and "only lock down those at risk" agenda.

Here is a hint for you -- Stop whining about your "rights" while pushing failed public health policies that have the intent kill and harm millions of people.

    that is all you have?
you realize there spread could be happening because of a new variant?

    2. You realize the vaccine is attempting to supplement herd immunity
in a manner very similar to the concept of isolating the high risk
and letting the low risk run their businesses and lives.
Because the vaccine was tested to show that
95% do not have serious complications.
(like the what low risk group... already experiences.)

Basically the vaccine turns everyone into the low risk and therefore
allows the virus to create herd immunity.

Are you too stupid to that is the strategy?

    3. its not my rights I am whining about... you selfish asswipe.

I am concerned about all the people whose businesses and jobs have
been destroyed. Who might be about to lose their housing.
Who have lost their life savings.
I am concerned for all the parents who children are stuck in crappy living situations and are depressed or worse.

My life and my family are fine.
I am not complaining for my sake.
I am pointing out what selfish shits you pro govt pre facists are.
If we are going to lock down we should have done it well... when we had the
hospital capacity. You idiots were allowing/supporting our governments to do pc bullshit
instead of addressing the real situation.

Charts, data and statements by myself were posted for Jem to read that clearly explains why there are +90 million American citizens in the high risk group and most are not elderly...

Just as concerning...most of those individuals do not consider themself as high risk. Therefore, you can not isolate them from the rest of the population.
    • Plus the +40 million of disable Americans with underlying medical conditions.
America is not a healthy country and that's concerning with a ranking in the +35th ranking. Thus, Covid-19 is ripping the United States a hole in that belief its a leader in health/welfare.

To Jem...its as if he thinking that it would be a bus load of people that can be sent away to someplace that's in a bubble.

Simply, that young sexy woman that he watches jogging down his street may be one of those high risk people that has an underlying medical condition and does not even know it or doesn't take it serious.

Those people you can not isolate them because there's millions of them that are not elderly.

The only thing you can do is take care of yourself, take care of your family and don't go on social media to spread misinformation / disinformation...that's a person doing their American duty.

In contrast, there's Covidiots in California like Kirk Cameron (former actor) hosting protests of face mask mandates and protests of social distancing guidelines with hundreds of people...several times in different locations.

Mr. Cameron is not the only one...there's others spread out over the state of California doing the same thing.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people especially these bastards with money that goes home at the end of the day to their luxurious homes when every one else is suffering after listening to those Covidiots on social media...

My grandmother and father would refer to these people as Witkotkoke.

And I clearly explained to you WRB...
That I agree... we have a lot of high risk.

As, I said... I do not expect govt remedies to be perfect...

But... if govt has the right to lockdown everyone... then it has the ability to lock down the high risk better... much better.

This is where is should have started...

    a. Don't rely on face masks to protect you from the virus...
    b. Don't rely on face masks to protect your family members from
    bringing the virus home.

because the data we have shows face masks do not protect you from the virus even though 71 percent of you think they do.

rather than mask up stay safe...
    We should have said...
    if you are High Risk...
    Stay Safe - Isolate

tens of thousands of lives of the high risk could have been saved with proper proper messaging based on the data.

Millions of people do not know they are high risk.

Therefore, you can not lockdown nor isolate those that do not know they are high risk.
    • This isn't rocket science
Its a fatal flaw with those in California or anywhere else that are spreading misinformation / disinformation on social media to people (some of them) that do not know they are high risk while listening / reading messages from these Covidiots.

Its irresponsible behavior and I consider it to be criminal. Simply, people like Kirk Cameron and many others like him in California should be arrested and locked up...that would be the appropriate form of a "lockdown".

Yet, it will only take one person from those multiple hundred people events to become severely ill from Covid-19 or worst for a lawsuit against Covidiots like that that has confirmation the person was infected at the event...

That will stop the social media misinformation / disinformation crap by these types of Covidiots that do not know or not concern with the fact that many at their protests do not know they are in the high risk group...

At least it will stop Kirk Cameron of California whom is not a public health official nor does he have any academic background in a related field of Infectious Disease.

He's just another dumbass Covidiot spreading misinformation / disinformation via holding protests against face mask wear and against social distancing.
