I'm not going to belabor the point of this argument. I dunno, FT...How are you going to get your kids to eat their vegetables each night? Did you ever actually ride a school bus when you were in elementary school?

"Some people advocate that large buses—those weighing more than 10,000 pounds—have seat belts to keep children safe. Many experts point out, however, that the seats in large buses are now constructed in a way that seat belts are not needed. The idea is called "compartmentalization." Seat "compartments" are designed to absorb the force in a crash, protecting the children, School Transportation News says. New bus seats are higher, wider and thicker, and all metal surfaces are covered with padding—all of which absorb energy in a crash. The seat structure allows it to bend forward when a child is thrown against it. Seats are also positioned no more than two feet apart, which limits the distance a child moves during a crash.

Compartmentalization provides protection in a head-on or rear-end collision, but some experts argue that children can still be tossed side to side during an accident, causing injuries and even death, School Transportation News says. When a bus rolls over, for instance, the most common injuries are usually to the head, neck and shoulders. One solution suggested would put extra padding along the sides of the bus interior—over the windows and on the paneling between windows.

There are several drawbacks to seat belts on large buses. They are effective only if they are used, School Transportation News says. On a bus that transports many children, it is difficult to enforce the use of seat belts. Even when in use, they require a lot of maintenance—to adjust them from child to child, to keep them in good working order and to keep them clean. Also, children younger than 8 years old need a chest harness instead of a lap belt..." <----I'm not providing a link to this, since it is so obvious a caveman can think it up themselves.

If you, as a parent, are so worried that the infinitesimal chance that your child is going to die in a school bus crash because they do not have seat belts, then you have three choices...

A.) Prevent your child from getting on a school bus, and make them walk to school like in the olden days.

B.) Drive them to/from school everyday in your own vehicle, and assure they wear their a seat-belt.

C.) Home-school them, so they are in no danger at all from the outside world.

  2. 1- I either walked or was driven to school.
    2- So did my kids.
3- I would never let my kids ride a bus because they hire idiots to drive them.
4- In hindsight I wish I would of home schooled my kids because they learned all kinds of leftist liberal bullshit at their schools from leftist liberal idiot teachers. :D
5- If you want to let your kids be at the mercy of the outside world tell them to not look both ways when crossing the street, tell them there is no such thing such as stranger danger and let them use drugs, ect.

P.S. I still think children would be better off using seat belts in school buses.

    With your beliefs...

What keeps you living in the United States ?

Seriously, you should live in either Iran, Russia or North Korea to be with people that shares your views. :D

In fact, I expect breaking news this summer about Trump purchasing a home in Russia. Yet, if I remember correctly...you don't like cold/winter places. Thus, maybe Russia is not a suitable place for you.

Every year some babies do die in car seats that parents used to protect them.

Yet, you will never be stupid enough to drive your child around without a car seat or drive your child around with the child on your lap while your drive because we know that overall that car seats do in fact keep most babies alive.
    • Unfortunately, there are parents stupid enough to do such and it needed a law to prevent parents from driving around with their babies not in a car seat.
A 10-year study of 11,779 infant sleep-related deaths showed that 348 (3%) babies died in sitting devices, in most cases while in car seats. More than 90% of the time, the car seats were not being used as directed. The median age at death was 2 months.

The results are reported in “Infant Deaths in Sitting Devices,” (Liaw P, et al. Pediatrics. May 20, 2019, https://doi.org/10.1542/peds.2018-2576).

Simply, wear your damn face mask, social distance and wash your hands in a Pandemic to prevent restrictions and save lives of those around you.

  7. Soon I will have to abandon this shitty country. It is going into the toilet deeper and deeper as I have already mentioned before. It is not the country it used to be. It is getting more and more like Canada by the year. :D

No one really likes cold places. Some get stuck there but then they vacation in warm places.

Wow...you're something else with your attitude. I'm starting suspect you're part of the problem in the United States. Stay away from Canada, they will smell you out and then throw you back to the United States. :D

Yet, your attitude most likely prevents you from legally immigrate to a country that has all year around warm climate or at least no "cold / snow" climate.

Thus, your only option may be illegal immigration to a warm country. Here's a list of places for you to buy a 2nd home so that you'll have multiple homes without becoming an illegal immigrant.

  10. Like I have mentioned before I have been to Canada and it wasn't for me. I would never want to live there. Not sure why anyone lives there.

You mentioning illegal immigration reminds me of the Democratic Party. They are bad people.
