Hard to say how this all impacts Canada but the early signs are that some of the experts got this all wrong and the trade war isn't all that bad for Canada. The more the US gets squeezed the more they'll want to get a deal done with Canada. Magna and Linamar ( auto parts ) for example are both seeing sales to the US drop but forecast a net gain in overall sales. For traders this is an opportunity because anything US trade related sold off hard and many of these firms were modest P/Es anyways.
Q1 GDP Growth Stats : Canada +2.2%, USA -0.1% Poster "Volpri" is looking like a big fool right now, but probably not smart enough to realize his hero Trump isn't a complete flip on economic policy and who he appointed in govt. All that energy he put into insisting that Canada couldn't weather a trade war and that the US would dictate terms to everyone. Guess again dumb ass this is an absolute disaster for the US on every front. Canada is making progress on new trading partners and successfully boycotting a ton of US products. You have to wonder though about a poster who is so rah rah about the US but had to move out of country for decades to make a living. There is a massive clue there that the guy is more troll then a capable analyst on any of these topics.
