Public safety overrides freedom to spread hate and discrimination any day. United States (0.48), Hungary (0.41), Nicaragua (0.36), Sudan (0.31), and Afghanistan (0.27) rank the highest in the world in racism & discrimination as in these countries are at the bottom. He'll be more comfortable in touring the above countries. In contrast, countries that make the best effort in equality...top performers are Finland (0.84), Estonia (0.82), and Singapore (0.82). Canada global performance (ranked #10 out of 142 countries) @ https://worldjusticeproject.org/rule-of-law-index/factors/2024/Canada/ United States global performance (ranked #29 out of 142 countries) @ https://worldjusticeproject.org/rule-of-law-index/factors/2024/United States/ I strongly suspect the United States will drop a few more points during Trump's term. At the minimum, Canada will continue to outperform the United States considering the U.S. elected a convicted felon 34x and our number of mass shootings has already equaled the prior administration. Yet, the United States did get better overall. We'll know by the end of the year if the U.S. gained on Canada or Canada pulled further ahead to improve on their 19 points difference. wrbtrader
I guess you guys can't win based on your ideas, so shut the others down. Understandable but unacceptable in USA. We also don't need government beer stores, what a nutty country. The only things it has over some third world countries is hockey and good fishing.
And you win with your ideas of hate and discrimination? How much deeper do you plan to dig that hole?
I've never seen a government beer store in Canada but I've seen beer sold in grocery stores (e.g. IGA). In contrast, Canada does have government wine & liquor stores known as the SAQ (Société des alcools du Québec)...mostly imported and protection of Canada's wine industry. There are other things that Canada has over the United States. Canada has lower violent crime rates although rising due to the influx of guns crossing the northern border from the United States. Canada has less mass shootings than the United States primarily due to better gun control laws and respect for life in Canada. Excellent Universal Health Care on the level of the VA Healthcare in the United States. Overall, Canada's healthcare system is ranked higher than the United States. Currently, Canada is ranked #30th in comparison to the United States #37th ranking. Canada is less divided in comparison to the United States. Canada has a more diverse political system than the United States. Thus, Canadians come together when there's a global crisis. Canada is ranked #5 in racial equity in comparison to the United States #55 ranking @ https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/best-countries-for-racial-equity Canada has a lower overall poverty rate than the United States. Canada has better social programs to support their citizens in comparison to the United States. Also, Canada is ranked higher than the United States on the Global Food Security Index. Overall, the cost of living is cheaper in Canada in comparison than the United States and Canada is ranked higher than the United States as a desirable place to raise a family. The infant mortality rate sucks in the United States in comparison to Canada due to Canada having a better universal healthcare, lower rates of poverty, better social and economic policies...all needed for improved maternal and infant health outcomes. I can go on and on as a resident/citizen of both the United States and Canada but I'm sure you understand why I choose to make Canada my primary residence and a place to raise a family. Thus, I use my home in the United States as a vacation home even though I grew up in the United States (Kentucky, South Dakota, and Illinois)...served in the U.S. military as an officer. It's not unusual to see some Canadians known as snowbirds live in the United States during Canada's harsh winter. By the way, I'm mixed on which country has the best skiing. I use to rank the United States higher than Canada until everything changed when I skied at Whistler Blackcomb (British Columbia) and Banff Lake Louise (Alberta). Yet, I'm an outdoor winter person and prefer Canada over the United States for outdoor activities in the winter. Also, I prefer sports in the United States over Canada. It's common for Canadian athletes to navigate to universities in the United States for better competition even though they know the quality of life is much higher in Canada. Last of all, more of my U.S. military buddies who I served with are now living in Canada after leaving the U.S. military because of the reasons listed above...it's not a coincidence. wrbtrader
Perhaps because you're not afraid of hate and discrimination speech is why you have a fairly high degree of hate and discrimination in your country.
That's actually is a coincidence, because equal numbers of citizens from both countries move to the other in a given year. 10,000 +/- of 41.5 million Canadians leave for the U.S. 10,000 +/- of 340 million Americans leave for Canada. So, you tell me where the outflow is going. Isn't there a picture of the Queen somewhere waiting for your genuflection?
Both are children of English law. The U.S. child became the uncompromising libertarian uncle who never lets anyone tell him what to say. The Canadian child took after the British parent who says, “Yes, you can speak, but mind your manners, or we’ll all have to have a word about it.
