Agreed, but these companies were created a few years before Asia began to stem the brain drain of its brightest by building and financing their own STEM research universities. That so many Indian CEOs are leading our most famous tech companies speaks volumes of their extraordinary achievements. Oh and no, I'm not Indian either!
Still wouldn't have made a difference. STEM degrees are not geared towards creating leaders that can come up with original innovations. How many years have Asian countries started having their own "STEM research universities"? We have yet to see a Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk from those "STEM research universities" in Asia. It just proves one thing: STEM degrees produce machines. They do not provide enough intellectual stimulation enough for original innovative thinking. It's hard to think outside the box when you are constantly learning 1+1 =2. How about 1 + 1 = 3? No, it's wrong you fail!
Achievement, yes. Extraordinary not at all. The U.S. has always been the land of opportunity .... for everyone native born or not. Dime a dozen.
Soon the UN or 联合国 Or whatever will be in Beijing and not US. The world is not designed to accommodate more than 6 billion people. Let those superpowers settle it. Whatever it is, human species will become extinct sooner or later.
Is it though? Japan, S. Korea; they're having some social issues from the overwork mentality. Japan's economy will continue to flounder if they don't get their birthrates up or ease immigration
