We were talking about Murkowski and Romney - did their actions change because Trump attacked them?

    No

I am giving an example, Trump trades in personal attacks and insulting wives is not the most extreme thing he said. And how are you comparing the FDR era to now?

Like they give a shit if they are attacked.

You need 60 votes for police reform bill, did you forget that? It's not a budgetary thing to get passed with 50 votes. This is what I am talking about, where is the eye on details?

I don't care how you vote, I am pointing to the pearl clutching by people who don't understand how things work. Why didn't he pass this bill and that, dude - have you seen the Senate makeup? Be disappointed, doesn't mean you don't have to be realistic.

So you cite two holdouts on principle out of the majority that had their lips on Donnie's ass and this proves what exactly? That Sinema and Manchin were under similar political pressure? You can't seriously believe that.

Trump made his party fall in line, we don't need FDR level of objectivity in both houses.

I guess we'll never find out

Nope, did not forget that. I'm not the one that ran on "compromise & reaching across the aisle". So how 'bout doing some of that huh? Do you know how easy it is to sell cons on shit like civil asset forfeiture reform? Police union busting? Hell, you may even sell them on redoing qualified immunity if worded right. Weird how cons got all sorts of concessions on a 63 yea vote for debt ceiling raise.

The pearl clutching is on failing w/o even trying...and no, introducing bills isn't trying. Plus I didn't get that from the exert I quoted:

As these things go, Cornell (I watched an interview)... is kind of a closet Trumpy.
He'd deny that of course, but 70% of what he rambled on about was pure Trump.

As always, politics aside.... that would seem to indicate to me at least... more affirmation of what I have said all along... Trump didn't win on being Trump... he won on people being sick and tired of what is really going on in this country.

“President Biden is expected to be endorsed by the AFL-CIO this week ahead of a Saturday union rally in Philadelphia, according to people familiar with the process, marking the earliest presidential endorsement in the labor federation’s history as the two major parties battle over working-class voters,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“The AFL-CIO, which includes 60 unions representing more than 12.5 million workers across a host of industries and the public sector, has long supported Democratic presidents and presidential nominees. While its support of Biden has been widely anticipated, the endorsement will land more than 16 months before the 2024 election, and at the start of the Republican presidential primaries.”

The Democrats are purposely boosting far-right Republicans. This will backfire

Are you even following the point I am making?

Why is the Dem agenda in Senate held up? Because of two Senators who won't budge.

Trump had the same problem and no amount of 'fighting' or 'attacking' helped. Why do you think it would work on these guys?

Nonsense, he couldn't even get money for his wall.

But this is all for Congress to do, where is Bernie Sanders and Sherrod Brown on all of this?

House Democrats passed a lot of bills that died in the Senate, which is exactly what happened in the Obama era.

The union bosses may be endorsing Biden, doesn't mean workers will follow.
