I'm glad you changed that from an Einstein quote as it is generally accepted as an endlessly misattributed quote I remember debating it in university. The quote does not take into account the role of chance. Sometimes, even if we do something different, we may still get the same result. This is because chance plays a role in many outcomes. Or the role of learning? As we learn from our mistakes we can change our behavior and start getting different results. The quote is too simplistic, might apply narrowly but still imperfectly to a simple measurement experiment, not the more complex world. There are many factors that can contribute to a particular outcome and it is often impossible to isolate one factor and say that it is the sole or even a reliable cluster of factors relating to the outcome.
But you also need to consider the possibility that doing something different could give you worse results.
