I support their right to express whatever they want (so long as it is not illegal or causes physical harm). But it is also freedom of speech to express discontent and outrage at someone else's speech. No one is taking away these folks' rights to kneel during the anthem. Many of us are calling them idiots, and opting to no longer follow the NFL - that is our right to do so. If someone was arresting them for kneeling, that would be suppression of their right for speech.
This is such a key insight. Just because they have a "right" to express their opinion doesn't mean we have to agree with it or with the manner in which they choose to do so. Trump criticized them for politicizing and disrespecting the anthem, not for their actual protests.
Not genuinely protesting anything. Just "virtue signalers". All empty BS. (Hey... they ain't quitting their jobs nor putting their "white fan paid money" behind anything... just running their mouth for sympathy. Pathetic!)
They can make their voices heard all they like...off the field. They are paid to play football, not demonstrate political activism or complain about how tough it is to be black. They have celebrity, a microphone, and a willing media to let them tell their story. It is a discussion worth having, just not on the football field.
