Hi coops, Medved's QT - the latest Betaversion ( 2.00G ) brings you Fibonacci retracements - you can use them on the RT charts and on the historical charts from Prophet when you open them through QT. Just draw a trendline on the chart and click right on the trendline - then click on Finonacci on the options panel. RT charts - If you use Datek's streamer quotes ( or any other RT quotes from free websites ) you usually don't have a backfill function. QT shows the quotes as they are collected. If you decide to use QT with Prophet streaming data , you have the backfill. Whenever you logon during the trading day, you get always the chart filled with current quotes as from 9.30 a.m. on. RT quotes from Prpophet are about 39$ a month or so. Still no Level 2 other than from Island / ARCA unless you are a DatekDirect customer. regards &
The Finn QT offers a whole bunch of Technical indicators - which you can customize in every way you want. You can even draw S & R lines on any chart and you can save your settings as defaults. To add indicator, right-click on the RT chart, and click on "Select Indicators " You'll see 5 scroll lists Indicators applicable to the chart and three additional scrolllists for indicators to attach to the bottom of the chart. Use the inputfields to the right of the scroll-lists to enter your preferred values If you use Horizontal lines, the values refer to the price scale in the chart. To determine your preferred chartstyle, rightclick on the RT chart and select "Chartstyle" from the meny - you have line, Candlestick, OHLC If you want to change the colour or appearance of your charts, price display and indicators, go to the "Options" menu and click on "Edit preferences". On the register panel, click on Charts and you can change almost every thing, colours, size, Fib-retracement-levels displayed etc. When you're in need of tickertape which includes all stocks in your watchlists and portfolios, click on "Windows" on the menu panel and select "Tickertape". To add symbollists to the ticker, just rightclick on the tickertape and select the portfolios and indexes you want to see on the tape. You can also alter the coulours, the size of the fonts and figures etc. The tickertape can be docked to the top or bottom of your monitor and stays open, even if you minimize the QT application. If QT detects news for a stock, a little yellow bulb appears beneathe the symbol on the tickertape. To read the news, just click the bulb. You can set alerts, open RT and historical charts, Island Level 2 window, T & S window all from the tickertape. Quite convenient. Datek - Trading Interface: You can detach the trading-interface and the transaction monitor and place them on your monitor where you want ( just like the charts and all other windows ) When you click on "StocksDirect" button in the trading-interface, you can select the various ECN's or Auto-execution. To select an ECN, click on the ECN button. A scrollist appears in the right part of the interface and you can select between : ARCA,ATTN,BRUT,BTRD,INCA,MKXT,NTRD,REDI,STRK Use the "Island Only" button for trading on Island ECN. Hope this helped a bit to become more familiar with QT regards
