Hello, I am looking to trade ETFs, and am a Canadian. For certain reasons, I would like to open an account with an online brokerage/or one located in the states. I am wondering if anyone would know of a brokerage that would accept Canadians? PLease let me know. Thank You. @Handle123 @Redneck @NoDoji @Buy1Sell2 @aquarian1 @Gueco @pak @slugar @zbestoch @dratsum @userque @java @Metamega @Robert Morse
You need a broker dealer that is registered in Canada, so yes, they are Canadian. You don't get a lot of choices there because of your regulators.
Why not open an account with IB and keep the funds in USD and then trade the ETFs. TD Ameritrade has very high fees per trade vrs the Interactive Brokers.
No I have a futures broker who is not registered in CAnada. But I need a broker that will let me trade ETFs @Robert Morse
just2trade dot com check them out. Low commissions. Can trade etf's. Must maintain 2,500 in account. Call to see if they allow a canadian citizen to have an account. I know they do for other countries. If your are, say an american, with residency in canada they may or may not. Not sure. Same with a canadian citizen. Best to call for clarification.
" In North America we are currently unable to open accounts for residents of Canada, as we are not registered in this location." @pinabetal
