A Wake-up Call from Van Jones
    By Robyn Dolgin
CNN analyst Van Jones appears to recognize a political head-on collision before it happens.

He’s now warning leftist viewers to wake up to the realities of what can occur with Trump’s next run for the White House in 2020, according to his appearance on a panel in the aftermath of the president’s SOTU speech.

One of the most worrisome moments for Van Jones was the president’s pitch for improved education for African-Americans. “You may not like it,” Van Jones cautioned his fellow panelists, “but he mentioned HBCU’s (historically black colleges and universities), have been struggling for a long time, a bunch of them have gone under, he threw a lifeline to them in real life in his budget.”

This “lifeline” struck fear in Van Jones because he recognized it was the start of politically consequential policies now being enacted by the Trump administration.

While his CNN colleagues snickered at Trump’s “showmanship,” Van Jones focused on what was the most notable aspect of putting African-Americans front-and-center at the SOTU. President Trump is pushing back against the Democratic narrative of portraying him and his supporters as “white supremacists.”

The timing could not have been better. “WAKE UP, folks,” Van Jones tweeted his comments in a video, “The Iowa caucus was a debacle, followed by a SOTU address laying out Trump’s strategy to win.”

In an act of pure showmanship, President Trump matched up real faces to his policies that addressed real inequities in American life. And the nation was watching.

He introduced a single mother, and her adolescent daughter, whose “future was put further out of reach when Pennsylvania governor vetoed legislation to expand school choice.” His administration extended opportunities for school choice and crucial scholarships of which the mother and daughter would be the direct beneficiaries.

Van Jones doesn’t need reminding that the quality of academic life in urban government schools is nothing short of a national disgrace.

[IMG]Does anyone have to ask who suffers most?

Surprisingly the Democrats refrained from hissing at the president’s call to offer economically deprived children -- many of whom languish in horrible public schools -- to have more such opportunities to attend charter, private and parochial schools. Of course, they would have to cross the union line to do it.

Most of President Trump’s appeals were aimed directly at forgotten Americans, many of whom suffer most in the nation’s prison system. Undoubtedly Jones watched the $5 million Trump campaign ad-buy at the Super Bowl heralding President Trump’s commutation of a black woman’s life sentence for a drug offense.

“The conservative movement in this country,” Jones admitted, “is now the leader on this issue of (criminal) reform.” This is “unfortunate,” he couldn’t help adding. It may be “unfortunate,” but Van Jones most likely shocked his former boss, Barack Obama, when he agreed to work closely with Jared Kushner, and other Trump officials, to pass legislation for sweeping criminal-justice reform.

President Trump was not above recruiting his former nemesis. Jones helped draft policies to reduce mass incarceration and high recidivism rates by increasing the pool of inmates eligible to participate in early-release programs. This is one of numerous policy changes.

Ardent leftists are criticizing Jones for bucking political convention and crossing over the “woke” line. The new Jones writes about bipartisanship and (even) waxes poetic about the necessity to work together: “I’ve never seen a bird fly with only a left wing.”

This sort of advocacy particularly incensed Aaron Rupar of the left-leaning news outlet Splinter. “What are you doing?” Rupar asked when spotting a photo of Van Jones at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference). He joined the conservative panel to further advocate for justice-prison reform.

Others were less charitable with their comments. “Sellout,” was a one-word comment thrown at Van Jones by leftist group, Bros4America. The brothers took the liberty of adding the word to a photograph of Van Jones. He appears smiling next to Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Kim Kardashian (another prison-reform advocate) at the White House.

Leftists wasted no time in launching attacks against Van Jones, never missing an opportunity to vilify his bipartisan efforts. Most refuse to heed Jones' sound advice “to step outside of our bubble.” The wake-up call isn’t on the leftist agenda.

Yet Jones understood what Trump supporters were hearing on the night of the SOTU. The president had successfully demonstrated a sincere and persistent effort to better the lives of Americans. While some leftists openly hope for a recession to stop Trump, the president’s achievements remain their worst nightmare. Those achievements, which were aimed at “forgotten” Americans, included: establishing “opportunity zone” tax incentives to funnel investments into low-income areas, passing lower corporate tax rates to fuel nationwide commerce, delivering on record low jobless rates (5.9 percent for black Americans). turning back regulatory guidelines stifling business, etc.

Freaking out over every move made by the president, Van Jones warns, will not get Democrats back on track, or allow them to regain the White House.

It’s fortunate for Trump supporters that many leftists continue to suffer from TDS and refuse to heed Jones’ sound advice.

Trump Derangement Syndrome: Diagnosis and Treatment
    By Gary Gindler
Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a social mental illness that manifests itself in the refusal to accept the results of the 2016 elections. This ailment belongs to the category of political psychosis. Unlike most other mental disorders, TDS is a contagious disease that can cause epidemics and even pandemics.

This syndrome is caused by the new neuropathologic coronavirus Bacillus Anti-Trumpicus (2016-nCoV). The virus, entering the human brain, selectively eats only those neurons responsible for a coherent political worldview. Theoretically, the disease is incurable, although some countries have announced successful attempts to combat the epidemic and control the spread of infection.

One of the best known symptoms of TDS is the complete lack of logic in patients' behavior. For example, those afflicted with this disease claim that "President Trump is a lifelong dictator and fascist. Therefore, in the 2020 elections, we must choose a different, democratic president." For those who still do not see a logical contradiction in this phrase, we can say with confidence that your prognosis is unfavorable.

For those who see it, this expression serves as a kind of warning: "Beware — a sick person is before you. You should not argue with him. You should not discuss any serious problems with this individual; do not debate or argue with a schizophrenic. This person needs neuropsychiatric help, not fruitless discussions."

The coronavirus Bacillus Anti-Trumpicus belongs to a well studied class of pathogens known as the Hidden Dogma of Collectivism (Occultatum Fascismo Decretum).

In the same way that Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) had spread for many years among people belonging to well defined social groups, Occultatum Fascismo Decretum viruses have spread for many decades among certain ideological structures, such as the Democrat Party.

Since the late 1960s, this party has become the party of the left, a socialist, Marxist party of the Leninist type. The Democrats carefully concealed this from their electorate. On television, they preferred to show moderate rather than radical socialists, such as Bill Clinton. That was the period when the virus was in a latent state. Only a small group of specialists could make a correct diagnosis at such an early stage of the disease.

But the arrival of Barack Obama in the White House marked the transition of Occultatum Fascismo Decretum viruses from latent to the semi-active stage. On the television screen, Obama almost always positioned himself as a moderate centrist with a charming smile, but all his actions were the actions of a vicious radical socialist, radical leftist, radical "fighter against American imperialism."

The recent outbreak of TDS represents a metastatic disease that originated in 2016. By 2020, for a certain number of American citizens, it has reached vital organs. In particular, the 2016 elections forced the Democrats to peel off the mask of semi-hidden socialists, revealing the inner pathology. The 2016 election forced Democrats to oppose America with an open socialist visor.

Why? Because proponents of leftist ideology have come to the (pretty reasonable) conclusion that the beginning of the Trump era means the end of the socialist era. They realized that it was time to go all in. Otherwise, the idea of turning 50 American states into 50 Soviet socialist republics would fail.

So they went all-in...Putin, Russia, Mueller, strippers, Ukraine, impeachment. From the outside, all this looked silly, but what else could be expected from a host in which the number of coronaviruses far exceeds the number of healthy cells? The Democrat vote in Congress over the impeachment of President Trump confirms this. The voting results settle the assumption that there are no uninfected individuals left in the Democrat population. Moreover, for many leftists, the disease entered into the last disseminated and incurable fourth stage.

Viruses Occultatum Fascismo Decretum, as a rule, cause a limited number of symptoms, which facilitates a correct diagnosis. For example, infected patients always refuse to believe they are sick. They blame everyone who does not agree with them, referring to them as fascists, projecting onto conservative political opponents their own inner fascist pathology. Organisms infected with the virus often break into militant gangs, which, as expected, and in Orwellian fashion, call themselves anti-fascists (Antifa).

The incubation period of Bacillus Anti-Trumpicus is unknown. However, according to experts, it is the shortest among the entire class of Occultatum Fascismo Decretum viruses. The incubation period depends on many factors, including hereditary ones. For example, if Karl Marx's books were on the bookshelves of the patient's parents or the Frankfurt School of Socialism was discussed at the dinner table instead of the kid's school affairs, then the incubation period is practically absent. It is the case of the father of the current Democrat frontrunner, Joseph Buttigieg, who was a Marxist professor.

A recent discovery by American researchers gives hope that the correct approach to the Bacillus Anti-Trumpicus problem will be found eventually. It turned out that the record-low unemployment rate and noticeable growth of accumulated wealth in pension funds sharply boost the immune system of both societies and individual citizens. In some cases, a manifestation of a complete cure is the refusal of patients to receive welfare benefits since they have obtained a high-paying job.

Cases of complete massive cures were also observed in patients who took advantage of popular home remedies. For example, some patients simply stopped watching propaganda television programs that disguised themselves as news media.

Bacillus Anti-Trumpicus is known to prefer an unsanitary, anti-American, and anti-Semitic habitat, which is often created by the heirs of Marxism, known as globalists.

Globalism is a pandemic caused by Occultatum Fascismo Decretum viruses.

Humanity still does not know much about this phenomenon, but experts believe that the globalism pandemic, although caused by a virus, carries mainly the characteristics of a social disease. Therefore, symptomatic treatment will not lead to success — it is necessary to eradicate the source of infection. Unfortunately, as of now, the exact recipe for a complete cure is not entirely clear, although the actions of the current administration to start the massive de-Vindmanization process are impressive.

However, the main hope is inspired by the exciting pattern confirmed by scientists: the coronavirus Bacillus Anti-Trumpicus does not survive in a pro-American environm

The Worst Pollster in the World Strikes Again

    By Nate Silver

Dirty little secret: I sometimes write material in the late evening that will be posted the following morning. This is one of those instances. The early word, however, is that a Zogby poll to be released today will show Barack Obama’s presidential approval numbers at around 50-50.

As of this writing, the Pollster.com averagehas Barack Obama’s numbers at 59.3 percent approve and 33.8 percent disapprove; the Real Clear Politics averageis slightly more favorable to Obama, at 61.2 percent approve and 30.5 percent disapprove.

So a Zogby poll that put Obama’s numbers at roughly 50-50 would be a significant outlier. Outliers are nothing new, however, when it comes to Zogby polls. They are, in fact, the rule and not the exception.

Let me qualify this a bit: Zogby International conducts two types of polls. One type are conventional telephone polls. Zogby’s telephone polls, while prone to somewhat wild fluctuations and subject to their share of erratic results (such as predicting a 13-point win for Barack Obama in the California primary; Obama lost by 9 points), are actually not terrible, and did fairly well on November 4th.

Zogby, however, also conducts Internet-based polls. These polls are conducted among users who volunteer to participate in them, first by signing up at the Zogby website (you can do so yourself here) and then by responding to an e-mail solicitation. These Internet polls, to the extent they rely on voluntary participation, violate the most basic precept of survey research, which is that of the random sample. And as you might infer, they obtain absolutely terrible results.

Because I’m writing this post ahead of time, I’m not 100% certain that the particular poll in question is an Internet poll. Zogby, which is probably aware of the poor reputation of its Internet polls, has begun to go to some length to conceal their origin, usually reserving notification that the poll was conducted online for the fine print. However, I’m about 99.8% certain that this is an Internet poll, as allofthepolling that Zogby has recently conducted on Presidential approval have been of the Internet variety. And that polling, by the way, has produced some very strange results: in an Internet pollconducted from January 22-26, for example, in the immediate aftermath of Barack Obama’s inauguration, Zogby had Obama’s job approval at 52/29, while the average of polls from five other agencies (Gallup, Hotline, Rasmussen, FOX and Democracy Corps) conducted at the same time put the numbers at avergae of 62/19.

Let’s take a look at the track record of Zogby’s Internet polling. Zogby conducted his last series of Internet polls for last year’s Presidential election in mid-October. He missed 3 of 11 states, and was off on the final margin by an average of 5.4 points.

These are not good results — the average miss on election day among all presidential polls in these states was around 2,5 points; Zogby Interactive’s average error was twice that. And Zogby is probably fortunate that he confined his polling to these 11 states only. When he had conducted a broader series of Internet polling back in June, it had produced some truly head-scratching results:

Note that Zogby had Barack Obama winning states such as Arkansas, Arizona and South Carolina, results which no other pollster saw at any point during the election cycle. He also had Obama polling within 5 points of John McCain in Oklahoma, which Obama would go on to lose by 31 points, and Tennessee, which he’d lose by 15.

Did the Zogby Internet polls just have a bad year? No. If anything, their performance was much improved from 2006, when Zogby had surveyed a wider number of contests. Below are the Internet polls that Zogby put out on October 27, 2006 in advance of that year’s senatorial elections. His average miss was 8.7 points, including six misses of 10 points or more, and one miss of almost 30 points:

Zogby’s gubernatorial polling that year was similarly error-prone. His Internet polls missed the margin in 19 gubernatorial contests by an average of 7.7 points, and he called 5 of the 19 election wrong, including a couple of states (like Arkansas, Colorado and Wisconsin) where the outcome was never in much doubt.

All told, between 48 contests that he’s surveyed over the past two election cycles, Zogby’s Internet polls have been off by an average of 7.6 points. This is an extreme outlier with respect to absolutely anyone else in the polling community.

These Internet polls, simply put, are not scientific and should not be published by any legitimate news organization, at least not without an asterisk the size of an Alex Rodriguez steroidal syringe. But I’ll bet you that Matt Drudge already has the siren cued up by now
