    You're fucking stupid.

Glenn S. Gerstell, the top lawyer for the National Security Agency from 2015 to 2020, said the idea that whatever Mr. Trump happened to take upstairs each evening automatically became declassified — without logging what it was and notifying the agencies that used that information — was “preposterous.”

the three criminal laws cited in a search warrant as the basis of the investigation depend on whether documents contain classified information.

The claim is also irrelevant to Mr. Trump’s potential troubles over the document matter, because none of the three criminal laws cited in a search warrant as the basis of the investigation depend on whether documents contain classified information.

Notably, a federal appeals court said in 2020 that “declassification, even by the president, must follow established procedures.”

"Established procedures, not the least of which, involve marking every page of a document "declassified."

So will this set a precedent for future presidents, meaning they will consume more ink since it is now known they must stamp every document with the label "declassified", and assuming the government is supplied that ink by a company like 3M or DuPont, we should buy their stock? Can we consider that deep-thought analysis, or am I just tired and should go to bed? lol!

Wrong. The president could sign the bill but it only applies to other folks, not the president. The president's executive power cannot be diminished by Congreffional statute. Congreff may only impeach a president. In addition, there is no protocol when it comes to the president declassifying documents. He or she may declassify in writing or in any way that they wish, including not telling anyone. The president decides this, not Congreff.

The law he signed does not say that,it says "whoever",with no exclusions. And he was no longer President when he illegibly possessed these documents.Former Presidents do not have a right to classified information.
