We decide what's legal and illegal, and we can change our minds. Besides, not all that's legal is moral or ethical.
Exactly, ultimately, we are the lawmakers. The real moral problem is that some folks die, or live in misery due to poverty while others have more than they know what to do with. That's the real ethical consideration. I think Jesus would agree.
No we don't. Look, i don't believe in altruism or some universal moral code but the fact is OUR society is legally (and in every other aspect) built on our Constitution. We vote for politicians and they make laws, but they are also bound by law as to what they can or can't do (like seize assets because you have too much. lol). pure democracy is mob rule. Any 2 bit politician can promise people 'free' stuff at the expense of others and get a following of greedy, selfish scum worked up into a fervor to go and take what they're (not) entitled to. theft is theft bitches, and that's all there is to it. You can't say it's ok in x circumstance and not in other circumstances, that's called hypocrisy. the rich are already paying more than they're fair share via taxes. fuck off.
it might be a problem for you but it's not for me, get how that works. You are the <s>king</s> queen of subjectivity, and a total loser. who gives a fuck what YOU want? The only people truly living in poverty in the US choose to, there are countless programs that provide food, clothing, shelter, even healthcare etc, if you don't like living like that, get off your ass and make money. you're an emotionally stunted piece of shit bro, you just can't get past jealousy/envy like a spoiled little brat. I hope im rich someday and you're the bureaucrat they send to lift my stuff.
"How you treat the least of you, you treat me" "The rich can no easier get to heaven then an elephant through the eye of a needle" So actually, by acquiring the top 400's wealth we're helping them get into heaven! So really, everyone wins.
I figured you were defending future wealth. Looking back on what you know of history, how have greatly unequal societies typically fared? Peaceful reform, or chaos and revolution? Can you think of any instances where the haves did not recite rule of law to defend their privilege?
i don't believe in gods and afterlife's.. or theft. how about we all mind our own business, no one is stopping you from giving away what you have to the 'poor'.
ya im defending my imaginary mansions, yachts and private jets. lmao, are u for real? i honestly don't recall being taught that any society fell due to wealth disparity, though i bet they're teaching that in school now. empires and monarchies fell (or were altered radically) because people figured out that nobles aren't special and don't deserve exalted status and absolute authority. Equality here means 'equal under law' not equal finances, which it never meant. How about all the socialist/communist govts, do they fail because of the uneven distribution of wealth? most people live longer than most socialist gubberments, explain that.
