you should - as soon as possible - realize, that you are part of a pretty small but very stupid minority.
Well…looking at the remaining map, CNN says there’s 16 contests remaining. I think the GOP will likely win about 6 of them. I have to make them favorites in the 4 incumbent seats in CA. There’s another one in CA they are leading. Unfortunately, Bobo is the only Republican in a non-CA district that’s almost a certainty to win (I would really have very much enjoyed a loss there, I think she could easily lose in 2024 now if she tries to run again though). That make the most likely outcome in my eyes 220-215. Not a big majority. Democrats can mostly blame NY for losing the House. They were the blue state that didn’t hold serve very well. MI and PA are states where Democrats shined well. Maybe Whitmer will consider running now.
Republican votes increased in this election while Democrat votes decreased by a large margin. What needs to be looked at is not who was running or who was endorsing, but whether or not the mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting need to be allowed to continue----and they do not. Also, early voting needs to stop and debates need to occur before any voting starts. These are the areas that Republicans need to work on.
What do that "stupid minority" have in common ? Trump's BIG LIE, Pandemic Denial, Anti-Vaccines but only after Trump lost, pro far right, Hunter Biden living rent-free in their heads, Clinton living rent-free in their heads, and now 2022 mid-terms denial. It's scary delirium. Yet, at the minimum, we need a two-party system...both functional. Hopefully, the GOP can do some cleaning of their shop to get back on the path of Democracy. It starts with getting rid of their virus...Trump from the Ross Perot Reform Party. wrbtrader
WHAT IS EARLY VOTING? Registered voters may cast a ballot prior to Election Day without having to provide a reason for wanting to vote early. This ballot is cast by personal appearance at the office of the election authority or at an Early Voting Center. WHY DO WE HAVE EARLY VOTING? A major reason for early voting is to encourage greater participation in the election process. People who travel for business, work long hours, or are otherwise inconvenienced by the hours the polls are open on Election Day may find it easier to vote early. Many occupations inconvenience workers so that their workers were unable to vote during the hours the polls are open on Election Day...some businesses with hidden agendas use to change work hours so that workers can not vote on election day. In fact, it's a well-known "vote suppression" tactic of minorities, women, and college students... Typically the largest growing voting groups. To fight the vote suppression by business owners in many states...early voting. "Early voting eases Election Day congestion, leading to shorter lines and improved poll-worker performance. It allows election officials to correct registration errors and fix voting system glitches earlier. And polling has shown that early voting enjoys popular support. ... starting in 2011, lawmakers in some states have sought to cut back on early voting. In many cases, these reductions have targeted voting days used heavily in African-American communities and Religious communities, such as the last Sunday before the election, when churches organize 'souls to the polls' drives. States that cut back on early voting have faced lawsuits and some rulings that the changes were discriminatory." wrbtrader
Election day should be made a national holiday and all voting except military and infirmed or other very rare exception should be allowed to vote absentee. That's the only way to increase legitimate participation in US elections.
What about online voting with a video check? Everybody gets a voter ID and can see how they voted. They will be asked to check before submitting.
Interesting proposition, but no, I think we need to consolidate the voting to paper ballots on election day. Much less opportunity for fraud.
With 72% reporting, 47% has Peltola as their first choice. That means that if these numbers hold, she doesn't need much to get over the hump. In the special election a significant amount of Begich voters (the more moderate candidate over Palin) put Peltola as a second choice. I would be very surprised if this hasn't happened again. Palin is the original Boebert. She's way more concerned about being a celebrity than doing anything productive and it's clear that Alaskans are tired of her. AK is also the only uncalled governor's race and Dunleavy looks like a lock to win re-election giving the GOP a 26-24 edge.
