It's a heaping dose of fourth turning for those who are familiar. The boomers will not relinquish their grip...sure they pay lip service, but at the end of the day you have these two running for the highest office...suckers.
All Biden had to do was show he could stay standing, he remembered and corrected a couple of wrong numbers (nothing new with him, he used to do that 10 years ago) and other than wrong track on green new deal for a moment until Wallace raised it (no earpiece then) he withstood it. Anyone not already rich from Trump's volatility markets is dumb so another four years won't help them. Most just want a president you don't hear from for days, Trump showed its more noise and bluster with him. Watching Chris Christie who helped Trump prep, he was struggling to find much to cheer. Biden missed easy knife thrusts but, it was just fractious.
Trump seemed subdued to me and Joe seemed pretty frisky at times. It's only the first debate, if they have the other 2 it might get interesting.
I'm blocking every single asshole in this thread except FT who I understand. Yeah he is a bit excitable but I get it. I share every bit of hatred towards leftists that he does for good or for bad. If was was a poor grunt in the trenches in WWII I would want a man like FortuneTeller next to me. Say what you will but he is a stand up Man. Give him the Squad Assault Weapon because he will put it to good work... Ok not every poster, a few seem aligned correctly.
I'm going to break from my fellow conservatives. don't block me, Snark. As a conservative and a registered republican (but one who is more Libertarian than anything else) I was thoroughly disgusted with the debate. I'll start with Biden, and then move to Trump. Biden was an empty suit. Couldn't answer any question with substance. Stands for nothing, and half the time doesn't even understand what he stands for. Frequently says he doesn't support something but on his official site he does. Lied about things too numerous to mention. However, he did not fold. He didn't shut down, and he wasn't Dementia Joe. Probably because he simply didn't have enough uninterrupted time to speak. Now on to Trump. All Trump had to do was sit there, on the high ground, and let Biden dismantle himself with empty rhetoric. Trump apparently never read Sun Tzu, but "never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." Its a simple concept. But our Egoist-in-Chief simply can't let anything slide.. Everything has to be treated as if it is the enemy at the gates and deserves shouting responses and interruptions. Several times I found myself shouting at the TV "Just shut the fuck up!" But he can't. He can't have anyone tell him anything and even had to get into arguments with Wallace. Who cares if Joe spouts lies that are easily refutable? Trump cares. Has to have the last word on everything. Buffoonery. And frankly I'm sick to death of it. Trump had just one lucid exchange that hit home, on Law and Order. That worked and I was happy to see it. Everything else was a travesty. I had to explain to my 12 year old that this isn't the way adults should behave. How do you do this when you're talking about the two men - one who is President of the United States and the other who is running for the office? It was more Wrestlemania than a Presidential debate. I'm sure people tried to coach Trump to not behave like that. But, because he's Trump, he has to do it his way. So disappointed. Biden won the debate. All had to do was not be the old Dementia guy and he did. Trump lost because all he had to do was let Biden speak without interruption, and he couldn't.
Trump won the debate easily. This is what we want after having so many lily-livered Republican candidates in the past. We want someone to take it to the other side. Also, Trump got Biden rattled enough that he disavowed The Green New Deal and also caused him to tell him to shut up. Excellent debate for Trump.
Forgive me for saying so, but you'd support Trump no matter what he said or did, so you're not exactly what I'd consider a balanced viewpoint.
