I actually have this same problem. The only way I can trade profitably is if I get out, completely into cash for several dayz after a winning trade. Losing trades don't torture me like being in the money. If I was the famous Ed Seykota, I'd ask myself "so, you will only stay in a trade when you're losing?" Yes, basically. I'm wired for financial suicide!
%% FUN?? Are you one of those strange ones , that doesn't try to ''get rich quick''+ actually enjoys his work ??LOL Me 2. Except I left my job decades ago + that job just confirmed, firmly , that i NEVER ever wanted to work for some else LOL. Something else to consider\XOM said there is about a $20 uneeded spec premium in oil. Repeating pattern; i would find something else to do trade/invest, besides a couple of oil trades per week. [NOT just the'' emotional reset '' , dont tell anyone, but I have battled both lazy + over work , lazy is worse \it pays less LOL]
Otherwise, what do you do with the 8-10 hours everyday? Fixed all the things around the house first month out of my day job, then went for cruises. After a few of them, all the beaches looked the same, all the tourist traps seemed to sell the same made in China souvenirs... Vegas? I hate gambling. Fishing, hinting? Not for me.... Looks like I am hard wired to be a slave.
%% MOSTLY wise , some other wise LOL. Proverbs , Jack Schwager books, charts-curved trend lines, hunting, hinting also. Metals business+ Hi grade brass , some lowgrade brass....... Sometimes Ducks Unlimited MAGAzine and ads there in. Sell SPY[exits],maybe get back in again. Still feeding birds. Readin' Co.....of F**ls , Enron con book by Kurt Eichenwald. TX trade co , reading @ the part where they ''bring out the revolvers'' I was thinking Colt, S&W, RGR, Remington, but they got in such a cash crunch\ drawdown on the credit line LOL I also count my reading as work, fun work but still good slave work.
You could look at the sport of ball hunting. Some people call it Golf. A great waste of time. You can waste a whole day if you spend enough time on the 19th hole. Very similar to trading. You play the same course every day, attempt the same shots and get different results. Just when you think you have it all figured out, everything goes to hell!! You basically find that you are your own worst enemy, you can always find something to blame but it all comes down to what you do. It's a challenge, always trying to improve, always reaching for perfection.
You could start selling courses. Teaching can be a great hobby. At least I were willing to learn from you.
