Maybe, 55% takes us below median income so it encompasses a pretty significant segment of the general population. The US greater Asian population is generally financially successful so it would make sense that they would represent a disproportionate % of stockholders, but I'm pretty sure whites (58% of the pop) are the dominant majority of stockholders.
Doesnt look right to me. It states that it includes pension funds etc but that would put Australia in the 75-80% bracket.

title's a bit misleading. Looks like the countries at the top are ones with well established 'retirement plan' investment infrastructure and related marketing channels. As for gambling/speculating/risk-seeking tendencies, from what I've seen it's pretty even across races and nationalities.
Makes them and many others Commonwealth nations due to their British colonial history, but their primary languages isn't English. Indigenous people of the US, Canada, Australia and NZ have been subjugated by the British and Irish (and French) who made the land theirs. Certainly the US could have been a Germanic nation in its early days. Imagine how different the world would be today...
