It's a two edged sword at this point: If the court rejects the appeal the market would reward no country-by-country tariffs not voted on by congress. But the spending bill is so bloated that without tariff $'s we are sunk. Trump wonders why the accounting office won't credit tariff $'s against his rich give aways// well now he knows.
This was not a good look: Trump’s UK deal — the lone pact so far — was undercut this week when he plowed ahead with levies on steel and aluminum. The UK said the pact included an agreement for zero tariffs on British metals, but Trump’s latest order kept a 25% charge on them while negotiations continue and doubled the rate for others. Basically the more I think about it- the only way out of this mess is to make a universal tariff rate. Blend all the countries and come up with a number Wall St will accept-- maybe 14% is the max I would go. Do all 120 countries in one fell swoop. and stop with the extra tricks and cheating.
Today's Belmont you have 3 heavy hitters all the focus is on them. The only wild play is Rodriguez- this is a front running horse so it will have to be a wire to wire event. May be worth a shot. In an under race (I believe race 12) There is a horse named Spirit Of St Louis. This is worth a bet. I like what i have seen from Spirit. Fierceness races today (race 8<-- check) A favorite to be sure./ Great horse. (A)Fierceness- (B) Spirit Of St Louis- (C) Rodriguez-
That's not the way you pick horses Stoney. They are all good, and any one has the ability to win. You have to watch them in the minutes leading up to their positioning in the gate. Not unlike humans, horses are temperamental beasts. As silly as it sounds, they have good days and bad days. Even on race day. To them, it's just another day. Granted there's a lot going on around them, and therein lies your key. How are they acting minutes before the race? If you have spent time around horses, you learn to read their body language as it applies to the other horses around them. It's hard to do if you are not actually at the race as the network coverage likes to use their cameras to zero in only on the favorites and it's hard to get the bigger picture as they approach the gate. With all that said, you can have your favorites all figured out going into the day, but never place the bet until the very last minute, after you have watched them approach the gate. You may not always pick the winner, but you can sure as hell eliminate a favorite or two if they are acting squirrely, and save your bet if they were your picks.
Or scrap broad based tariffs entirely. You know, common sense not Trump's dream world. What did the 1930s teach us ? In terms of trading, my theme of a huge overweight in silver and copper miners was a massive winner ( even with a misplay on SCZ not taking a huge intraday profit Thursday ). I haven't had a success like this since Cdn energy fall 2020-spring 2022. And there are similarities to the two trades. TSX stocks slow to reflect rising commodity prices surprised by strong earning reports, company buybacks, takeovers, and company debt getting slashed.
This is very true, in the early-mid 2000s I picked the Kentucky derby winner 3 years in a row simply by watch the pre-race stuff, and picking the one with a little more "pep in their step" . Unfortunately I put no money on it, but had bragging rights over other guys at work watching it.
