HF wants to see me this week or next. I am not in a good place mentally and don't think i should be giving out any market views. These guys are used to me being negative, anti-Apple, anti Ai, Anti tariffs, Anti the system. I don't know where I stand now. On the one hand I am expecting any trade deal (India they are talking again and extending a meeting) to spike the market. China obviously would be huge. As well June was my month predicted a year ago for the first rate lowering. If that happens again market celebration. That is counter balanced by what I see as very weak earnings down the road. EPS growth now pegged at 9% I believe will slip to 4.5% second half. Van made a top call a hundred or so S&P points ago that I thought was brave. But he backed it up with no facts or reasons, nor has he doubled down as I have asked him a few times. That's cool I don't want to hold anyone's feet to the fire, I'm just trying to firm up my own view. - "old annoying" Stoney
These are the guys that bought Ted's Beacon Roofing. QXO. That was about 1 month ago. Stk is up 40%. That is the definition of a good purchase. NYSE - Nasdaq Real Time Price•USD QXO, Inc.(QXO) 19.00 +2.25 +(13.43%) At close: June 6 at 4:00:02 PM EDT
Arnie- You must remember you have piloted EVTOL's and imaginary Ai drivers. The latter is 10 years away. In China they are well advanced in this area and even there for now the rides will be amusement park type short hops. At travel destinations like a glorified zip line. E hang management has stated we are 5 years out from real place to place flying. We must remember these are battery powered and not gas guzzlers and as such may not ultimately get the love here. And in China now the whole EV market is crashing and may lead to a real serious economic problem. Search BYD for news and you will read up on the price wars. In my mind a lot of this is fantasy. Do people even want to fly helicopters anymore?
You’ll be a passenger, not a pilot. They make most sense in large urban areas where building/expanding roadways is expensive/difficult.
Drones are where the now action is. I would buy a basket of drone names over EVTOL names. RCAT- <---- Re enetr this idea? 52 week high = $15 // stk is $8.00 ONDS- <---- Great contract today! KTOS--< Our favorite name in the space. (we own) AVAV--- “The creativity of the Ukrainian strike should get countries thinking much harder about sheltering combat aircraft and defense against short-range unmanned aerial systems,” wrote Capital Alpha Partners analyst Byron Callan in a recent report. “That will cost money.” Some of that money should eventually flow to defense technology company AeroVironment, which has expertise in drone and drone defense technology. The company’s product “portfolio is strategically aligned to high-growth areas of U.S. and global defense spending,” wrote William Blair analyst Louie DiPalma in a Wednesday report. AeroVironment makes Switchblade guidable munitions—essentially kamikaze drones—and Puma surveillance drones that scout the battlefield and enemy positions. The company is merging with BlueHalo, which produces counter-drone technologies, such as detection, lasers, and signal jamming. “We remain positive on shares, as drones are a listed priority of the new administration,” added DiPalma. He rates shares Buy. He doesn’t have a price target for shares. There is a Newton’s Law-like principle in war that every action by a foe generates a reaction. After low-cost weaponized drones come drone defense and, eventually, more capable drones. The drone arms race is on.
You will be a passenger with a pilot. The problem is getting overhead flying rights over populated areas.. these are rather large to fall out of the sky. Even in China where they apear looser with various restrictions, flying over populated areas has been rejected for now./ The perfect rout would be out to an airport flying over lightly populated areas.
These EV- like companies are wasting so much money on the driverless tech. Americans don't want that. We drive our cars. And we like our pilots. The driverless truck... that's a different animal I think. Prob in my lifetime I will run across one of those on the road. that will be a sad day.
vz is stuck in that paper SPX cash short and he's going through some things rn. The upside is that he upgraded to indoor plumbing today.
