I didn't publish on this because the drone in question is two to three years old and i don't see it as a game changer. Nor is any contract amount given. Be careful here- Draganfly rallies on Dept of Defense contract Jul. 16, 2025 8:16 AM ET Draganfly Inc. (DPRO) Stock Shares of Draganfly (NASDAQ:DPRO) are rallying in Wednesday’s premarket trading following the selection of the company’s Commander3 XL drone by a branch of the Department of Defense. The Commander3 XL drone, considered the “Swiss Army Knife” of drones for its adaptability and “robust” flight performance, was selected to conduct intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions that require additional operational capabilities. The procurement of the Commander3 XL was facilitated through a known prime contractor, with Draganfly engaging directly with end-user military stakeholders to ensure the platform met “real-world” mission requirements. The terms of the selection were not disclosed, nor was the identity of the branch of the military deploying the Commander3 XL drone.
"We expect home appliance prices to rise this year, especially for mid-range and premium models that rely heavily on imported parts and materials," said David Warrick, executive vice president at Overhaul, a supply chain management platform, and former head of global supply chain technology at Microsoft. Larger home appliances could be the most susceptible to price hikes. "Refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines are particularly vulnerable because they often include a high percentage of foreign components -- even when final assembly happens in the US," said Warrick.
"Prices are going up anywhere from 5-10% on our imported selection," said Reece Dorsey, sales manager of The Appliance Loft. Dorsey says the price hikes are hitting as new inventory arrives in stores. "A week ago, about half my brands were affected. The other half are coming online this week," Dorsey said. For shoppers already frustrated by high prices, the timing couldn't be worse. "They are outrageous," one shopper said about current prices.
