Gee, who didn’t see this coming?

People settle for very little, you don't even have to have a government program to stimulate this kind of behavior. My first job as a physician here in Brazil was as a Family Physician in the primary care of the brazilian federal health care system (SUS), a complete catastrophe by itself, in the city of Foz do Iguaçu.

One of my patients then was 28 years old and had 8 kids, she had no job and her husband earned about R$ 400,00/month in "freelance type jobs". When I talked to her about contraceptive methods, she told me she wanted to have a total of 12 kids, because kids "gave her something to do and kept her company". I simply could not imagine then that someone could think like that and how did she support those children. That was when one of my "Community Agents" that were also part of the health system and which lived in the patient's area told me that the neighbors felt pity and always gave her some sugar, some beans, some rice and because of that, she always had just enough so that their children didn't starve to death, but naturally they were extremely poor and lived in horrible conditions.
Now imagine if you have a government program giving any kind of money to people. For many years now, there is such a program and the benefit currently amounts to R$ 190,00/kid. There are endless cases, videos and all sorts of evidence that show that poor women have children because of the idea that "the more children you have, the more benefits you get".
This is simply a stupid idea that stimulates people to keep living in misery and killing any incentive to get out of that situation.

Pro choice. Women have the right to choose to abort unwanted children. But they should not have the right to choose to have children just to live off the government dole, at the expense of their kids.

When they choose to have a dozen kids just to treat their children as commodities, to be used as oh so much chattel to get the free shit, then they should have their tubes cut.

Agree, but it will never see the light of day. Right does not even want to educate about contraceptives.

Yes, it is sad. When I was growing up, there was such a thing as sex-ed in public schools. They taught the biological principles of penis into vagina, and how that all worked. Masters and Johnson were the gurus and taught a generation of how kids were made, and how to maximize the effort from the side of pleasure.

These days, if you were to even suggest teaching that in schools, you would be burned at the stake for corrupting "the children".

His small mind doesn't understand the benefits to a nation that children bring to it. Especially an aging population that seems hell bent on discouraging or blocking immigration which often involves young families with great potential. The US has let the selfish pursuit of profit and personal needs take too much of a role in society. Things are out of whack.

Still never got the argument that a woman is allowed to murder their children because they dont want them. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Difference is - you are clearly lying but can’t tell when someone is telling you the truth.
Is it so far fetched that Neo is an MD in Brazil? Why? Because you aren’t?

I see that one of the people I blocked for not being able to argue as a civilized human being is trying to imply that I'm not a physician. I recall RRY16 doubting I'm from Brazil and I made him swallow his words once, is it him again with his nonsense?
