Good decision. Finally some long-term thinking instead of the usual Russian boot-licking. Even nuclear energy is a better option than relying on Russian nat gas.
You're clearly a Russian. Might as well admit it, it's obvious anyway. So when a Russian border town votes to join China or Japan, Russia will just respect the decision? Give me a break, Russian OMON troops will come, beat people half to death and then jail them for life as they've always done.
Russia can sell its oil and gas also somewhere else in the world, especially in Asia. But, if multiple nations agree on such a big pipeline project in the beginning, then after some years some of these members breach the contract, so is that then OK in the business world?... Nope! And Russia should never again do such a business project with such unreliable partners, IMO.
Germany shouldn't have started this pipe project in the first place. too much geopolitical risk. use other means of transporting gas other than using pipes. the operating cost will be higher, but there will be lower risk.
Not quite. The pipelines haven't been built and it's far more expensive to reach coastal China then it is western Europe. Supplying the current amounts to China is years away if Europe would be cut off. Russia is the ultimate unreliable partner, violating airspace in Finland and the Baltics, invading Ukraine, causing border queues unnecessarily, supporting riots in Estonia etc. So your argument is quite hilarious. It's like a career criminal who was caught after killing multiple people complaining that the police hurt his arm when he was arrested. Yeah, cry me a river.
