This looks like a good overview, although they mix futures contract with options contracts and I cannot get good idea of their options-only contract volumes. At least you can get ideas what to look at: https://fia.org/articles/fia-releases-half-year-data-futures-and-options-volume-trends-0
This looks better than I thought but looks like he already looked at ASX and considered this a small volume. And I agree, this isn’t much. Sometimes I buy and sell hundreds of SPX options in a day (cheap combos), so a few guys can generate thousands in volume. This is nothing comparing to billions of trades in stocks and futures, especially when spread over strikes, expiry dates and minutes or hours during the day. Even illiquid penny stocks have higher volume than this.
Korean options are the most liquid in the world as the contract size is very small and everybody has fibre broadband at home. Kospi futures were not allowed by the cftc for us citizens not sure about the options. It was not a good time zonet for trading from the UK as they open at midnight or 1am GMT.
