I knew somehow you'd get back to Trump lol. Keep that downstairs in the cellar.

A billion here, a billion there... whats the wall now, like 8B?... doesn't matter anyway, they'd have found somewhere else to spend it. And not on fusion. Unless it powered a new missile.

well fusion is a bit of a pipe dream, TWR reactors are not (until the energy department nixes technology transfer initiatives aided likely by lobbyists & political dick swinging). Imagine if those 8b had gone into subsidizing the project instead? Besides, you can just use that giant fusion reactor in the sky a million different ways in the mean time, though people call them "green" and object to them.

I agree, we in the US of A do not want EV.

A 2019 new Honda Clarity lists for $34K, it has a battery that can go 50 miles per charge, the hybrid mode can go 45 MPG combined city highway driving. We can get a $7,500 federal tax credit, $1,000 CA rebate, $1,000 Electricity Utility rebate for a cost of $24.5K. Honda is discounting $6K for unsold 2019 models. So you get a brand new car for a net cost of $18.5K. Yet, they are sitting on dealer's lots here in CA. It is the same size as an Accord and the cheapest Accord sells for ~$27K. Go figure.

Mate had Nissan Leaf early days, electricity bill went up £200 per month and only doing 25milee per day had to change to cheaper over night then charge at night only pretty much, 80mile real world range, down to 40miles within 3 years. They lease the battery these days £80 per month so replaced when needed but not var of monthly fuel bill for a small car.

So not a lot of point.

New battery tech soon,4xs capacity so twice the range and half the battery weight to lug around and battery cost.

50 mile range only viable as a second car for commuting duties / town run around, with real car for actually going places.

The amount of fucking boomers in this thread.

Do we compare Apple and Nokia because both make phones?

"But but but the cash flow". Ok Boomer, explain Amazon.

ET has really gone downhill over the years.

Bloomberg Businessweek dropped an analysis on how the competition hasn't measured up. Free on Bloomberg radio which is also Sirius Ch. 119/available with a subscription on Alexa. It dropped and should be on YTube later this PM. Free on YT if you don't have access otherwise.
