Some work only when vol is being suppressed or reversing. Some work only when interest rates are high/low or dropping/backing up. Some work only when pre-market or after hours had action, etc. There are as many edges as there are markets, and you can find them if you learn how.

One way is to figure out how you can be in a trade while everybody else is getting shaken out, puking, and getting their accounts blown out or even just having their capital tied up for a while...

Remember, someone is always taking losses.

All edges are just Schrodinger's cats that no longer exist as soon as they are practiced in the open exchange.

When your profitable actions become other traders backtest results, it's only a matter of time!

Profitable trades posted in the open on this forum are met with SILENCE because another edge just got deep sixed. Whatever you do, AVOID momo trading! It doesn't work

  7. Edges are tied to alphas. Things like momentum are beta, as in they’re broad characteristics of a stock or group of stock. You can have an edge in beta timing, but the more useful it is the more likely it gets discovered by others too. When everyone knows about it, then the price already reflects it. For edges to continue to work you then need to be faster or find a new way to observe it.

it's hard to find a lasting edge with time based data.
